As my title says I am a "rack freak". Ok, not the kind of "rack" you love, but the other kind of rack. (Oh, I do love that "rack" also, just so you know.)

I am a clean freak. All my rack cases have an air filter (or two), and I clean out inside regularly.

The top one is #2 rig in my signature.
#2 rig : Dual E5410 on X7DCA-L with 6gb & ATI HD3850 & Vista business x64

This is my secondary rig which handle more tasks than my main rig. It serves files to my family and few neighbors, and it renders CG graphics. It's on 24/7 of course.

The one below is a 2U rig which is my #1 rig in the signature.
Dual Barcelona 2346HE with 2gb & IGP & Ubuntu 8 x64

It is currently offline because the mobo is dying. Its SATA controller has been giving out loads of IO errors in Ubuntu. After I've tried 8 different HDDs, I've come to a conclusion that it's the mobo.
I absolutely hate the current line-up for AMD server mobo, so this rig isn't going online any time soon (or ever).

The one below is a 2U rig which is #4 rig in my signature.
T2400 on Fedora x64

Its spec is nothing spectacular, but it draws 52watt at full load.

+++++++++++++++++++++

The bottom one is #3 rig in my signature.
Dual L5310 on X7DCA-L with 2gb & Geforce 7900GS & Fedora x64

It features dual L5310 and draws 110 watt at full load. I plan to replace its CPU with E54xx series if I ever find good deals. Its RAM also need to be increased.

++++++++++++++++++++++ My network.

UPS, it can hold the entire rack for a full 7 minutes before going down. It's long enough for me to shut down each rig in case of power failure - when I am at home -. :ROTF:

My router, Dlink DIR-655 or something. All cables are CAT6.

My Dell switch. It is connected to a Dlink NAS. That's where I backup backup of my critical data. In other words, I backup twice.

Above is my backup Internet, which is a wireless internet provided by Bell. My area has been known for power to go down occasionally for 5+ hours during storms and the like. In such a case, I use my UPS to power those two units and use my laptop to access internet.
Of course, I also use it when my main Internet goes down.

RMA the board?

RMA the board?

Not very feasible. I have to send it to Tyan in USA, and Canadian custom has never worked for me regarding RMA shipments, so I'd have to pay for exporting fee and then importing fee (plus Tax) when it does come back.

I will be looking to spend a good 100 dollars total. I'd rather get a new board, and there is no AMD server board I like at the moment.

Oh didn't realize that. Sucks.

Perhaps Tyan can replace the board via their official Canadian distributor ?
i mean it's a server product and service and especially RMA must be on very high level.
