As the title asks, I would like to know if Adobe software is multi-threaded.

Why? Well, my sister needs a new computer, and since I am 4 hours away and thus cannot offer immediate tech support, she'll have to go with a company that can, i.e. Dell or HP (please save the rotten tomatoes for later). The best I can do is to design the system for her knowing her requirements. She is a graphics design person, so she will be using CPU and RAM intensive software, namely the Adobe suite of programs. I have configured two systems that will perform her need admirably, and only $50 separates them. One is a 2.83GHz dual core, and the other is a 2.5GHz quad core (both Intel). Thus, knowing if Adobe is multi-threaded will help my decision significantly. If it is not, the dual core is the better option at the moment, but if it is multi-threaded then the quad core would be better for her.

Yes, has been for some time.

get the quad core, Adobe photoshop i know for sure does, especially when using filters, the blur effect uses 4 cores.

Since Adobe is the industry standard in so many things, they have been multi-core for years.

Yes it is , that's why my Quad Is so nicely OCed since I'm using Photoshop CS3 for various things from avatars to 10 MPx + pictures needing filters. And yes on Adobe basic filters [ not downloaded ] the Quad Core is a devil.
