I picked up this psu before reading the reviews because of the price 120 bucks new.

only issue is the (1) 80mm fan they put on the back of it to exhaust the air.
The 80mm fan is made soley for performance and not sound.
I found this product thats used for longer psus, instead of using it for a longer psu...perhaps I could insulate it with foam to dampen the fan noise coming from the exhaust fan.....

Ofcourse I can't endanger the psu by impeding the airflow, I was thinking of making a simple "S" pattern in foam using this extension bracket.

Anyone know how to dampen the sound from a psu other than by replacing it outright?
Thoughts?

where the hell was this thing when i had my lian li V1000 which was SEVERELY restricted int he length of psu you could use.
this is an awesome idea!
BUT
only works for cases with allow you to remove the psu mounting bracket.
too bad most cases dont have it.
