Hello

Mine next cascade, it's very simillar for this one : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=198072 , but this one will be having automatic oilseparator and blue baseplate :D .

Specs :

compressors: Sanyo remark C-RN110H5A around 13000 BTU so 1HP on both stages
evap: steeper
XVes: Alco TI-HW+ nozzle 01 / captube 0.9 mm
HX: plate HX , 12 plates
condenser: 3.0 Kw, alu-cu, cooled by 300mm/230V fan plus alu-cu 0.4kW 1x120mm desuperheater for 2nd stage
refrigerants : R507/R1150
oilseparator : Shineyear automatic
safety : Danfoss KP7 cut-off, 1.5 litre FACH expansion tank
case : baseplate with welded frame 70 x 50 cm , blue painted+ wheels
others: Anaconda shocks absorber on 1st stage's suction line ,2 gauges on both stages hi-sides.

There is already much work done than only frame welding, but I don't have digi cam to take some shoots :( (mine parents take it on holidays) ...

Wheels and paint which I've already used :) .

I've already paint baseplate, mount wheels, braze and polish evaporator, screw some parts to baseplate ...now I'm waiting for orifice for TXV and expansion tank :).

And 1st stage compressor temperature after 1.5h of cascade work . Not such hot as for rotaries :).

Now I plan to swap motor fan on condensor - this one is heating too much :(.

wow nice... great idea with clear coat :)

if your load temps were 99.9c... i bet you would double check thermo, add more insulation, et cetera LOL!

edit- your using the receiver as a receiver not epansion tank correct? do you not need any more volume on low side?

he's using receiver as exp tank here teyber...

safety : Danfoss KP7 cut-off, 1.5 litre FACH expansion tank

look also at this pic, he brazed shut the receiver outlet
http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/21.jpg

and this one also as the receiver inlet is connected to 2nd stage suction line with captube

 That's Funny ,even if it was correct.:ROTF: Accumulators are on the low side. :p: Receivers usually hold liquid on the high side before a TEV.;)

That expansion tank put like that it has a nice potential to trap oil. There is refrigerant flow going in each time you stop the unit. What do you think?

I don't think that is oil trap. Yes refrigerant goes there but when compressor is not working so oil isn't "pumped" there, + we have oilsep on 2nd stage :).

Thanks for nice words . :) sure I use receiver as a expansion tank . I've found that receiver before TXV even make temperatures on 1st stage worse (maybe not worse but for sure not better, same about discharge pressure) .

i was asking as i saw 1 receiver... i never brought up accumulators, i know what receivers are but he in the past has modded them for expansion tanks and i was wondering if he either didn't have expansion tank or didn't have receiver for tev:rolleyes:

Hello

Fresh portion of photos :)

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/32.jpg

Unloaded with final charge :).

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/33.jpg

Pressures idle. That 5 bara in which condense R1150 if funny I think :O . I've never seen such low discharge on 2nd stage in mine cascades. I think that's thanks to ... :

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/34.jpg

1st stage goes very low in idle (when 2nd stage is running without load).

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/35.jpg

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/36.jpg

Pressures and temperature on 260W after 1hour test :) ...I know, I know ...last cascade has been making -100.4C on that load but it has another oilsep and Kprobes are different :p: . This one is making -98-100C at 260W .

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/37.jpg

1st stage loaded .

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/38.jpg

Now cascade needs only final test :) .

Hello

I was holding this unit in home for a long time just for pressure test - I've seen very slowly pressure drops (sth like minus 0.2 bara static less every 5 days) on 2nd stage. Like always I've checked all conection/brazed points. All fine . Finally I've check also captubes - and yes - bingo . I've leak on staraight thick captube piece going to cut-off   . Visually all was fine but "Gas control" from Wigam and another tested show small leak  :. Now I know that captubes, specially those thick ones are worth to be checked .

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/42.jpg

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/43.jpg

Spray which show bubbles .

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/44.jpg

Cut-off and new captube part, this time in good test after mounting . 25 bara inside.

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/45.jpg

After recharge with fresh ethylene cascade show -115 :p:.

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/46.jpg

and 1st stage goes LOW  with final charge . No load.

http://www.members.lycos.co.uk/piotres2/cascade_blue/50.jpg

2nd stage unloaded with final charge.

Some news....when i received it 2/3 months ago , the 1st stage's compressor was dead...
Piotres send me a new compressor , and i fix it with someone in my town ( 180€ to do it )
( if i want to send it to piotres , and piotres send it to me after , it cost 300€ .... )

Now it working :) , i'm just disappointed by this problem...
