Uhm, haven't played it myself, but a friend of mine play's it most of the time - Insurgency (http://www.insmod.net/).

My favorite was Minerva. It had a lot of polish IMO for a mod.

Cinematic Mod is FAIL. The creator refuses to accept any criticism of it, somewhat like an 8 year old. He pretty much ripped off textures from other mods and then 'refined' the whole package, and now everyone is expected to fall in line with it. Personally, I liked Alyx when she wasn't a skank, and the overly white teeth are perturbing. If you ask me, HL had some of the best facial detail of FPSes to begin with, and hell, Lost Coast gave us HDR and better textures. Cinematic Mod is just a huge yawn to me.

Black Mesa looks excellent, just a shame its probably not going to be ready anytime soon by which time ill have forgotten about it :(

Black Mesa is about 50% done, and they're only a small team of guys, they're not a software company. I'd rather they released it 'when it's done' rather than rushing to make a deadline thats totally arbitrary and have quality suffer in the process. Remember, this is going to be a FREE mod, not something you'd pay for!

Well it's easier to criticize someone instead of prooving you can make better :rolleyes:
CM is made by one guy and it is an amazing mod bringing new life into HL2. And about the "ripped off textures" please do show me these original mods. I never seen one even remotle close.

hl2dm pro was an awesome multiplayer mod, tied it in with some elements of the original hldm

I don't think its very popular anymore though (been a while since i played it)

ive been playing fistfull of frags and i love it. country western fps and its great to me. and the golden eye mod is fun to.
