so its finally time for an upgrade... I have tried to do a little research but I am as lost as it gets.. been a while since I had time to look at reviews and all.. so please bare with me... this is the best I could come up with for my needs...

ASUS Maximus II Formula

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600

SILVERSTONE DECATHLON DA850

HIS Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB 512-bit (256-bit x 2)

speaking of needs... my main goal with this machine is to have it as silent as possible...on air.. I don't plan to WC this new rig because I just can't spare enough time for that atm. So air it is...

It seems that the 4870x2 still doesn't have an aftermaket air cooler but I can get that installed if/when its released...

ok...so if anyone could please answer any of these questions:

1 - ram: any suggestions? I wanted to get a high quality ddr2 kit (2x1gb) - no plans to run vista on the near future.

2 - case: having a real had time finding a case locally and might have to order one from the US... only case I can find locally is a silver TJ07 (but I really prefer black cases)... Any suggestions for a full tower case that is good for air cooling? price is not really an issue

3 - CPU cooler.... TRUE extreme? Tuniq? anything new that I should look into?

4 - any other suggestions or changes to my original list?

Any help would be really appreciated!

thanks a lot for the quick reply zanzabar

I am planning to order everything from newegg so I should be able to get that ram... I only need 2gb, but considering the price I might as well keep the extra 2..

and just to avoid any confusion on my part...original TRUE or extreme?

thanks again :)

EDIT - knew I was forgetting something... I seen the black TRUE recently...so unless there is a reason to avoid it...updated list:
