todays the day, but I see nothing, no announcements at ATI, no new things at newegg or anywhere else.
no hardware news about it anywhere...
september 30th was the day, and todays the 30th, but I see nothing yet :(
That's what I'm saying, brotha. If this thing has a better core or lower ns memory, it'll re-write the ORB's.
September 30th...heh, I'm sure they wanted to launch it with Half-Life 2. Gordon Freeman is probably sitting on a beach somewhere with a crate of XT's laughing at us ;)
Ah...there they are:

Hothardware got the XT up to 455/400 on stock air.
This thing may have potential ;)

Yup, "automatic overclocking" ;)
[H] got theirs to 465/409 on stock air.
Looking good so far...

I like the Tech reports review ;)
thanks for the link.
anyone see these for sale yet?
I saw also that Asus and MSI are making 9800 XT's.
probably see an 600-700 dollar MSI XT here soon huh, after seeing MSI's offering on the 5900 ultra, haha...

30k wont fall
the xt is crap :)
u might run some more mhz on ram but i dont think the core will do that much better than 9800pro
u might reach some better results on stock cooling due to that extreme thing ati placed upon there but i dont think there will be any difference when xtremecooling the chip

Perhaps the 256MB DDR1 will help... Maybe not 30k just yet, but if these are only slightly modified 9800 Pros with 256MB DDR1, then I see why it shouldn't give at least a decent performance increase... The higher stock speeds also mean higher overclocks could become more common.

I am 90% sold on getting one.
for 2 reasons.
I have a 4.1 ghz PC here with nothing more powerful then a ti 4200 :(
if its not the best overclocker, atleast I can play some kick ass games again, the Ti 4200 just doesn't have it, I can't even play morrowind anymore, cause the game is sooo choppy, even at low settings.
it would be nice if it OC's well, but I'd settle for a card that lets me play games better again too ;)

I was gonna get a 9800Pro until I heard about the XT. I'm upgrading from a 9700Pro... Faster clock speeds and 256MB DDRI... can't be that bad... eheh.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYY -Check this out.
Get Half Life 2, for free, when it's released.
atleast thats what ATI says :)

Quote:
ATI has also struck a deal with Valve that makes the company the "preferred graphics partner" for Half-Life 2, and those who purchase the two new Radeon cards will receive a free copy of the game when it's released.

How's that for incentive? eheh
I want one like right now... we need to get em in at best buy so I can a) get my discount and b) return it if it turns out to not be as 9800pro...

I'm looking to get rid of the 5900u pos. I was totally sold on getting the ati oem 9800pro 128, but now this... I'll have to wait till see some poping up here and see what people have to say about them. I don't trust review sites. I believe the guys here over toms...[H]... or anywhere else

256mb over 128mb wont bring u anything except u are playing all games in 1600x1200 maybe
and u know this card wont be cheap ? ;)
u will almost get 2 9800pros for that price

It's $100 more retail than 9800 pro so it won't be double the price... but still a bit more... And I only play games in 1600x1200 ;)

Hmmz, this card seems to have quite some potential...
Adds 5fps up to the R9800pro at stock speeds...
Not for me though, I'll take a shot with the 9800pro first...

I thought the point was not how it performed, but how it overclocked?
Considering this is a new mask revision (ie stepping) of the R360 core and has a revised board to go with as well...this thing might be something of a screamer.
