The time has come for me to gradually move on to vista, but that means I need to upgrade my ram also. It's still ddr2 for me as I'm not ready to give up my setup quite yet :)
I've been looking at couple of 2x2GB kits, been reading reviews and ddr2-roundups about mostly OCZ, G.Skill and Corsair but just to make sure I haven't missed anything I figured I'd ask the advice of some more experienced people.

I'm looking for a 2x2GB kit running at 1066mhz or higher that allows some more overclocking. Maybe worth mentioning is I'm using an Asus Maximus Formula (X38) mobo and a qx9650, some ram works better on some boards then other so if you have any experience with that particular mobo, feel free to help me out.
The price is not the limiting factor but I guess I'm looking for spending somewhere around 250$ max, give or take a few bucks, that's not really the issue.

If you have encountered any decent DDR2 reviews (recent ones) with tests, benchmarks, comparisons or whatever that I might have missed, feel free to share them, I'd be more than grateful to obtain extra information. And of course any suggestions are more than welcome, that's what I'm looking for and is in fact the reason for this post :)

I could've posted it in the memory section too but this isn't something about any specific type of ram so I went for general hardware (this is for the critics out there ;)

TIA!

I gotta vote for G.Skill RAM, it's great for OC'ing.

I still have this HZ kit and the HK, both excellent memory modules.

I agree I love the G.Skill ones, but I tried the 8000 and 8800 they are almost the same but the price is totally different so I highly recommend the 8000 with the heat sink one.

I'm considering the "G.Skill 4096MB DDR2 PC8500 Kit CL5", theyr'e in stock at http://shop.nordpc.com , priced to 88.90 Euro, wich I thought was pretty good price. They seem to perform well.
First I considered the "Mushkin 4GB (2x2GB), REDLINE XP2-8000, 5-5-5-15" but after reading alot in the forums here they (mushkin) seem'd to be not as good as they were a while ago. I also considered the "OCZ Reaper HPC, DDR2 PC8500 4096MB KIT, (CL5-5-5-18)", but many people recommended the G.Skill over these.

I think I'll go with the G.skill. Haven't heard so much about the crucial ballistix or corsair dominator yet tough, so I probably should research them before I make up my mind.

They will go with the stuff in my sign. but eventually ( or more like a question of time) I will upgrade to something like Asus p5Q-pro and E8600. Maybe.

Nice, I'm reading some nice feedbacks on that one. We possibly have a winner here :) I already checked out the Mushkin ones but this one must've slipped cause I missed it. Than again, there's so many of them out there. Thanks for the input m8!

The G.Skill looks good too, I'll read up on it too. Thanks for the advice so far guys.
