I have a Lachesis but it gives me so much input lag on my pc that it literally causes me to overshoot icons when i go to click on them. it has to play 'catch up' with my hand, an no other mouse i have does this...

anyone else's Lachesis do this?

Mine is fine, after I updated firmware.

After you update firmware, set up the mouse how you want using the Razer CP, then un-install the CP. The mouse has on-board memory that will store your profile.

the firmware is updated and everything is set up in the razer cp, it still lags like crazy. its the only razer mouse/other mouse i have that does this, its really weird. its like trying to work on a REALLY slow lcd, but when i change the mouse, the lag is gone:shrug:
it must add 30-40 ms to the lag, its crazy :(

That is strange...are you plugged directly into mobo, or off of a header? I really gotta guess on this one, as after firmware update, I haven't had a single issue that wasn't board-related...

I have exactly the same problem...more or less. System is in my sig. OS is XP.
It starts out fine, but after some time (5 hours - 2 days) I get massive lag and is literally unusable. If I take it out (remove the USB mouse connector from the PC, even for 1-2 sec and plug it back), everything is back to normal. I would guess the Lachesis' USB connector is :banana::banana::banana:ed up.
I don't remember this happening when I first bought it

Can't you adjust the poling time on a razor? Though the change in lagging or not would then be caused by the internal timer ( board ) and I would guess that would cause allot more issues. But maybe you set the usb polling so tight that after a while it just get's somekind of syncing problem causing the lag? Try setting it abit looser? Allot of questionmarks I know, don't have the razor but thought my thoughts might still help someway :)

Yeah some USB controllers don't like 1000hz polling rate...

Pooling rate is at maximum if I remember correctly :D(I'm at work right now).
10x for the advice. I will try as soon as I get home

I think that's what you ment with board related, sorry for not noticing that earlier

Xel'Naga I hope you will solve it.

i did have it @ 1000 but have changed it to 500 because it was a bit more laggy with 1000 but the problem is still there. unlike the OP, mine doesnt get worse or get better, its just constant.

Idk, I think I heard people say I use to many words in my posts from time to time, but that's because I seem to confuse people more then inform them if I don't

:toast:

That being said, my input for this thread has reached the end of it's usefullness :(

Well I think cadaveca could help you better since he actually owns one and maybe has more experience with them. I was waiting for pm and browsing threads when I seemed to accidentaly click on this one.

The only thing I kinda knew for certain where the polling time sometimes causing the lag ( and slow lcd's.. like old one's :poke: ) but other then that I'm not going to be off any help :toast:

Hope you can get things sorted

Update:

Latest driver and firmware. Pooling rate 125Hz, DPI 750.
Seems to have solved the problem. I will gently increase the pooling rate and DPI and thoroughly test for lagginess.

I'm not very happy with mine, either.Pretty imprecise....
My old mx518 was better.

Yeah some USB controllers don't like 1000hz polling rate...

I find that slightly hard to believe: USB has it standards/specs etc that *should* be adhered to by any company implementing it.. but then again ur probably right cause I bet theres some dumb-*** company that wont stick to the specs etc :D

I think it depends on how many devices are isntalled on USB, noise on teh bus, board quality, etc...as already posted, it does seem to have had a positive effect to lower the polling rate for the OP.

I had the same issue with G5 for a while, on ASUS P5K it did not like 800mhz polling, but 600mhz was fine. I have many USB devices though, drivesx2, controllersx4, wheelsx2, CF reader, printer...and occasionally PSP.

mmmm.. interesting.. might try to induce some kind of odd behaviour from my G9 one day by plugging in a butt-load of USB things :D

that does sound plausible: heaps of USB things = 'mayhem' :D

Yeha, and it doesn't make sense that my lachesis owrks so well, but I have seen MANY people complain about them. For me, it's the best mouse I have ever used..and all these other mice mentioned have graced my desk at some point...had the issue with the G5, that ended up with a dead button, so maybe I had a bad G5...who knows...

:banana::banana::banana:. It's back again! And I'm still running at 125HZ pooling rate. And I only have one more USB device connected (external HDD). So I doubt it's the USB controller.
Also, dunno about you guys, but unplugging it for a few seconds fixes the problem.
In the beginning I had problems because the cursor was randomly moving on the vertical axis, for no reason, every few hours, but they fixed it. But since they haven't updated the firmware or driver in a looong time, it looks like I will have to live with this.
This stinks....
And as I have said, in therms o precision, mx518 is far better than my Lachesis. In this matter I would compare it with a Microsoft Intellimouse. Dunno what all the fuss is about...but maybe I got a dud

cadaveca
08-19-2008, 10:37 AM
It's definately possible you got a dud...having on-board mem could be the source of many issues.

I will say this though...If I overclock the FSB of pretty muc hany board, over 450mhz, I get the cursor moving on it's own. 445 is fine though...also, the surface you use makes big difference as well, in regards to cursor movement..using a mousepad, flat colour, but fabric, it will move, but just on my desk it's fine.

I will also say that if noone tells them about issues, they are gonna think things are fine and not bother with updates. I'd be sending them a mail at least, and asking for a new mouse...

I have the laptop in my sig, so no OC. The random vertical movement was a known issue. Even some reviews of the Lachesis picked it up. And Razer recognized the problem and fixed it with an updated firmware.
It only happened once , maybe twice a day, but if it happened during a team battle in a clan war it was really :banana::banana::banana:ty

Really? Never would have known... You got some new info, or just re-iterating old issues?

Yeah, I can make it happen now, after firmware update. I'm just laying out the info, you'd probably be surprised to see how I dig into issues like this.

glad to see im not the only one with issues. i think i'll send razer an email and see what they say. as of now i'm using the Ikari laser, awesome mouse and no lag issues. best tracking mouse ive ever used.

Running 1.75 firmware, not having any issues with mine tbh, running at setup in sig.
