Hi guys, is it possible to test a Mach 2 GT complete with controller without the use of a minimum loaded motherboard, ie. processor & heat sink, graphics card, floppy drive, and RAM?

In other words, not to use the yellow/yellow wire and blue/white wire connected to Power ON PC switch? I dont think it's possible, could someone please confirm? Thank-you. :)

Conversely, is it possible to test the Mach 2 controllers as a separate item? One would have to plug in fans and the display (not necessary I think) and the condenser sensor, psu wire too. What do you think people? I have three of these controllers, one is definately a Mach 2 GT (brand new), the second is also brand new but could either be a Mach 2 or Mach 2 GT and the third is not new, a Mach 2 that has worked previously.

i think so-

i shall say i hate controllers and because of this have very limited knowledge but nobody else has answered so-
I believe you need a extra PSU, and short it to turn it on.
The pins that go from the power switch to the mobo, just use a conductive material between the two leads- ie. touch the two with a peice of wire, witht he ends stripped.

hope this helps.

Hi teyber, thanks for that. I have a custom made lead with a switch on which I would use to turn on the power on. This lead connects to the blue/white wire from the controller. I'll get back to you later and let you know how I get on. I have remembered what the yellow/yellow wire does now. This goes to the Power pins on the front panel and boots the computer when the desired temperature has been reached.
BTW, why the need for the extra PSU? AFAIK one is all you need when setting the Mach 2 up normally.

not sure about if you need a psu for the mach- the limited time i spent on a freezepack needed a psu... i ended up buying one for it.
