hey!
normally i don't like to post new threads regarding ebay deals, but
http://cgi.ebay.com/96-NEW-Danfoss-Refrigeration-Compressor-Model-SC18CLX-2_W0QQitemZ160271294907QQihZ006QQcategoryZ53300QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
if somebody could buy 96 of them at ~ 5$ each i think you would have a market at over a 10x markup. anybody in his area?

over 100.00 dollars a compressor is a big chance when spending 10,000.00 dollars, remember "as is" Also spec sheet indicates 208/230 volt not 115v unless I looked at the wrong spec sheet.
If you could go there and hand pick a few at that price, different story, but I wouldn't buy the entire lot.
BTW: most you guys are used to dealing in retail pricing, which is much higher than wholesale pricing......

The Reserve is set at $500, so he's thinking $500/96 ends up near $5.
Guy set $10k I think just so that if someone wants desperate, they'll grab. But he wants bids.

How do you know the reserve???, they would be worth more than 5.00 for scrap metal.
BTW: I don't follow metal prices ,but know copper peaked @ over $4.00 a pound a month or so ago.....Tin and all scrap is paying well now.

I know the seller, so asked the reserve incase I want 100 compressors sitting around. Dunt think I will though. I think these are mostly steel though. Probably worth more though in scrap though your right. If you get 20 cents a pound you'll be rolling in it.

Funny, didn't think of the motor, good point. But do you think thats most of the weight? Naw I'd imagine the shell and rest is.

I'd put my money on the shell being quite light compared to the windings. ;)
