most tattoo artists are verry good at drawin

if you ever plan a trip to asia you can get it done verry cheap;)

i have a tribal dragon :)

EnJoY
08-11-2008, 02:26 PM
It may not be a dragon. I was actually thinking this...

Shoulder cap that looks like my skin is peeling off and underneath is snake/dragon scales...coming off of the shoulder cap down my arm and further up my shoulder would be tribal art possibly turning into dragon heads. Cool?

Pain is not a concern now, most high-level shops will have topical anesthetic if you need it, for an xtra charge.

Yea, I'll just have my buddy punch me in the face a couple times, so I have other pain to distract me. :p:

I'm making an appointment for a consultation on friday (hopefully), and if all goes well, I'll be going in the following tuesday.

Some people just can't handle it...some can't even handle the slightest bit of blood. Makes it an option for those people...personally, I did my own myself, no anesthetic. I don't even think it was an option back then.

Anyway, this is something you might want to look for when picking the shop to do your work. Once you finalize your design, try to find someone who has done similar work before.

The hardest colour to remove is red, but if you go with vegetable-based inks, this is not an issue, but they are prone to fading, and will require constant work to keep them in shape...and also can be useful to "test one out" for a coupel of years, and if you like, then get it done with better ink for permanence.

I just scheduled an appointment with a really good artist at a shop in Harvard Square here in Boston. He's done a lot of work for my buddy and is highly recommended. I'll be going in tomorrow for consultation.

A good artist with new needles, really doesn't hurt all that much.... not to be mistaken... it does hurt but beware of the butchers out there that jab the gun down and drag away on your skin... this is pain.

A good tattoist should use the gun like a brush

A little update. I got about 75% of the tattoo done yesterday afternoon. I have another appointment in two weeks (9/2) to finish it up. I'll post pics of the finished product.

As for pics...I just went in for my second appointment last night. Here are some pics taken immediately afterward. You can also see them on my facebook.

Tatoo is about 90% complete...the dragon scales still need to be finished and some touch up work needs to be done on the red. I'm $800 into it so far. :D

I love sleeves dude...my buddy theo has a full polynesian tribal on his left arm. We both aren't big fans of tribals anymore, but his is very unique and looks sick. He also has a full chest piece that's composed of the Boston skyline with van gogh's starry night behind it. :D
