hi guys, scuse me for my english...

i must buy a new psu for my system:

QX9650
EVGA 790i
4GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR 2000 CL9
3 GTX280 sli.

What model shall i buy?

you need a 800W rated psu with 61A on 12V.

(assuming your cpu will be @ 4ghz and 1.2v)

Check out the Pc Power & cooling psu's. Dont know if you have access to them though. That CM 1250 does look pretty nice too. Just like enteon said, anything over 800watts with a nice high amp rating will do just fine.

Each stock GTX280 can use around 230W according to reviews. So thats like ~700W for the cards alone. Add ~200W for the OC'ed CPU + other parts and you have 900W power consumption. If you OC the GFX cards along with the rest of the system, you would be nearing 1kw consumption.

I'd try to get an 1.2KW or bigger unit, not to run near max capacity. If money is no problem at all maybe even an ULTRA X3 1.6KW PSU, so it can run quiet, efficiently, cool, with better output quality and last longer. This ULTRA unit may be considered overkill but sometimes its cheaper then some 1.2Kw units.
