The fan on this heatsink is already making a horrible noise. i think its failing already. This is annoying because, this heatsink was bought new. Are there any thermalright style fan clips that work with the xigmatek? I really hated the rubber noise dampeners. It was very difficult to install the fan on the heatsink.

So thermalright style fan clips would be a godsend. are there any that are available for sale?

do RMA on the fan......
btw, the rubber mount I actually found it easy to use, attach them on the fan first then just push it in....very simple...don't even need to match or measure anything.

shoot an email to xigmatek over the problems with the fan...but as far as the rubber noise dampeners being difficult to install....i have no idea what your talking about lol, difficult to install is thermalright rubber bumper strips and fan clips.

First of all, they were almost impossible to push through the tiny holes on the fan. I had to cram the rubber into the hole and use my finger nails to pull the tip all the way through. Also, it is impossible to take off the fan without damaging the rubber dampeners. I would have to remove the mobo from the case just to get access around the heatsink.

its not impossible to take rubber dampeners off the fan, i've done it already, just make sure you have some needle-nosed pliers. makes the job a lot easier.

what are some replacement fans that i will work with the rubber dampeners? I dont think i want to use another xigmatek fan. It will probably go bad again.

the heatsink itself seems great. The heatpipes actually feel warm and it keeps temps low. I am just not looking forward to removing my motherboard just to replace the fan on the heatsink. I absolutely do not have enough clearance to reach the corners of the heatsink.

its not that hard to remove the fan really.

find a long flathead screwdriver that will fit in the holes.

use that to slowly pull out the rubber dampeners. do one side of the heatsink first, then move to the other side.

works easily enough. i have all of one inch between one side of my heatsink and my power supply, and i got the fan out.

just take your time doing it
