Hi.

Which BIOS of ATI Radeon HD4850 is the newest and the best? I have PowerColor ATI Radeon HD4850 with VER011.003.000.000.029117 (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/15998/Powercolor.HD4850.512.080523.html). I'm going to flash it and I think about changing BIOS version. There is around VER011.004.000.000.000000 from MSI (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/16357/MSI.HD4850.512.080605.html) and VER011.004.000.000.029193 from PowerColor (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/16845/Powercolor.HD4850.512.080602.html) or Sapphire (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/16834/Sapphire.HD4850.512.080602.html). Which should I use? I think that PowerColor 1.004 will be the best, because MSI have smaller subnumbers. Is that safe to change BIOS version? What's the difference?

Same as GAR's opinion, might not be the latest BIOS but I prefer it than the others since it has thermal look up table in it. The other bios doesnt have it, which only allows u to edit fan cycle via transfer function..also it has lower 2D clock at 160mhz, others at 500

my sapphire stock bios looks like this:

Clock State 1
Core Clk: 500.00 MHz
Memory Clk: 750.00 MHz
Voltage: 1.046 V
Flags:

the msi bios has the following:

Clock State 1
Core Clk: 160.00 MHz
Memory Clk: 500.00 MHz
Voltage: 1.046 V
Flags:

i've read in another forum that there's no difference in the temperatures between 500/750mhz and 160/500mhz. isn't there a way to reduce the voltage for a specific state? i think the voltage is causing the high temperatures at idle - and i doubt the card at 160/500mhz needs the same voltage as the 3d-performance state...
