Hello.

I'm looking forward to replacing the stock cooling of this card (made by PNY).
It's not efficient and it's loud as a chainsaw. The new cooling has to be effective, quiet, easy to assemble, and it has to fit to a MSI K8N Neo2 (Socket 939) and a SuperTalent CA-601UFB case (image here: http://di1.shopping.com/images1/pi/85/0a/79/21864529-177x150-0-0.jpg)

Moreover, I would like your advice regarding a cooler for the Athlon64 3200+. As with the GPU cooler, I want it to be effective, quiet, easy to install, and not too big or clumsy (I had terrible experience with the monstrous ThermalTake Sonic Tower), and it has to fit to the same case described above.

Thanks in advance.

Get a Zalman VF700 or Zerotherm GX700 and run it at 7v should be fine for a 6800GT.
Or if you want it passive Arctic-Cooling Accelero S1 Rev.2
For your CPU you could go for a OCZ Vendetta II if a sonic tower fits in your case this will fit for sure.

ThermalRight V2 - I have this on a X850XT - it can run with it passively if need be :D

I checked compatibility - it fits both 68GS/GT/Ultra AGP & PCI-E

V2 is very expensive imo + it doesnt come with a fan.
why put a 30 euro costing cooler on a gpu thats prolly worth 20 euro.

Huh, the V2 was one of the only affordable VGA coolers in the US for my purposes. Fits with my WC res unlike the S1. Got it for like 35 shipped somewhere. It seems a radial heatsink like the vf700 would be your best bet. It's only a 6800gt so they should be able to handle it, along with being the cheapest other than the S1. I would recommend the S1 first because it's the best bang for your buck, but it's also huge. As for CPU cooler the Vendetta 2 is a great choice.

Don't know about availability of the OP, but this one is cheap and looks like it may work.

Thanks for the input.

I live in Israel.

Every cooler mentioned here is available, minus the Zerotherm and the Coolink.
As mentioned before, I'm looking for a quiet, yet effective, cooler. I'm do not have plans of overclocking, will a passive cooler suit me well? I do have intentions of playing tasking games though (as far as a 6800GT allows). Moreover, I'm looking for a cooler smaller than the Sonic Tower, which BARLEY fitted my case, and was extremely clumsy.

Regarding the VF700, I guess that the CU version is the best, right?

There are so many companies that produce cooler, and each company has dozens of models, and each model has at least two variations :wth: It's driving me crazy.

MY EVGA 6800GT stock fan was leafblower loud and still card ran hot at 65C idle and 85C load temps even in relatively cool months. :(
I had the VF700Cu that was decent enough for the 6800GT and x800GTO2 at x850XT speeds.
Got a VF900Cu later.

But i think the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev2.0 offers max compatibility with many cards- old or new.
Can fit and handle G92 as well as 4850, iirc.
Very nice vfm.
With two 92x25mm fans or one 120x25mm fan, it performs very nicely- even when OCed.
With good case ventilation, you may get away with passive cooling too (though not when OCed maybe).

I couldn't get it as it wont fit the Antec htpc case i will be using for my next rig and sticking to the VF900.
I don't OC the gfx card and the silence over stock cooling, if not better temps, is enough for me. :p:

SYTRIN KuFormula VF1. Cheapest heatsink ever and it works great.

mmm.. interesting design - especially the 'fan' - which kinda sucks actually: it blows the hot air in-wards & on to the mobo

you can switch the fan design obviously and it works even better. i tried.
