View Full Version : JIXHB's running 2600mhz on air?
here is a quote from someone in another forum that just got this chip.
YAY i got my hands on one of them super magic 1800+ that do 2.6 on air
the stepping is as follows
AXDA1800DLT3C 9816196280389
JIXHB 0329XPMW (m) (c) 1999 AMD
i have been reading about these chips latley in a few ocing forums and so far the latest buzz is that the JIXHB
steppings that are out now seem to oc verry high. i would like to check one of these chips out if this is true? anyone of you guys hear about these steppings? i heard you could pick them up at new egg it was somthing about buying the retail box? hmmmmmm... anyone get one of these latley? whata you guys think?

interesting but as you can see everyone's interest has shifted over to A64 so I think I'll be spending anymore money until I find out what these A64 are all about.
ooohhh, 2600mhz on air?!?!?!?
Thats me all the way
Dad wont let me get H2O cooling:(
"Waste of money"
air is it for me

I've also noticed the JIXHB stepping - what seems to be a recurring theme is the high clocks achievable on stock volts. I see many posts on various forums noting OCs of 2200-2300Mhz on stock volts - there are even people who get good overclocks while undervolting! It'd be interesting to see how these CPUs turn out on more agressive water or prometia cooling.
I haven't gotten a chance to see where these people are getting successful JIXHB but no particular week seems to be more special than others (I have seen reports of good overclocks from 0321, 23, 24, 27, 28, and 29 so far). If newegg retail is handing them out then I'll probably pick one up sometime just to play with.
yeah i think im going to check one out too? i mean 2600mhz seems to be the avg oc im hearing? the thing is where do we find these chips? i really dont care what stepping i just want one and it has to be like newish stepping i.e. 0321 and up.. i heard new egg was dulling them out for like 50 bucks? anyone know? ill keep my ear to the ground and when i find out ill deff post where to find them and please if you guys hear where to get them post as well.

I haven't had much time free so haven't been researching where the steppings are coming from, but I'll probably look at it after I get back from class this afternoon.
Also I wouldn't be too optimistic about a 2600Mhz average overclock on air, that seems to be the highest reported so far although the volts were not terribly excessive. Most posts aren't getting that high on air cooling. But with so many reporting stock voltage overclocks of 2200-2300...

well i checked excaliberpc to see if they had them which they didn't does anyone know any other companies that might be carrying these besides newegg?
yeah me too. im also looking to find one of these steppings to try out. i got one kid wanting to sell me a xp1800 DUT3C he claims runs 2600mhz at 2.09v? i think its a tad bit to high on the v-core my self but to actually see a xp1800 run 2600mhz? it may be worth the 50 bucks? anyways i realy want to find one of these JIXHB's i may just take a chance and order a retial 1700 from new egg? whatta you guys think? well i know what you think! you think i should and that way i can let you guys know:D well let me see if i have the money to be the guine pig? probly have to wait til next friday so if anyone finds a link by then please post.
*edit* here is another wierd ass stepping i have stumbled on. ill wait and see what this guy claims to be getting out of it? but for now check out this stepping.... AXDADLT3C NIUHB 0334
*edit**edit* ok man this NIUHB is also for real. this guy over at overclockersforums just got one and hes getting 2650mhz@1.95! he got it from new egg so i think im going to take fifty clams and be the guine pig and see if i can score one? ill keep you guys posted...
taken from a post over at overclockersforums.. posted by Lithan
Oh i wouldn't say it's the chip to get... I mean it will only do 2.6ghz at 1.85v. That's not very good, is it? I got into windows and ran prime for 1 minute at 1.90v 2650, but stopped it and decided to burn in instead. I'll start the overclocking tonight. Looks like 2.6-2.7 will be where this chip ends up... couldn't even load windows at 2.7ghz, 1.9v... so I'm thinking that's about where it hits a wall that takes 2+vcore and top notch cooling to get over
Looks like a great chip, and I'm not seeing any of the problems with high voltages alot of people reported about the early 1700+ DLT3C's..
thx perc,
oooooo
please tell what happens!
I really want more then 2400mhz

In that post from oc-forums the guy says he got 2300Mhz out of stock 1.5v, so that is about the same as the current JIXHB reports in terms of stock voltages. What's strange is that he needed 1.75v just to get to 2400Mhz, but only needs 1.9v for 2600Mhz. A lot of the JIXHBs did much better than that on increased volts. Also note he was using watercooling, not aircooling, and 1.9v is definitely pushing it on air.
yeah it's ok i gues? im with you i want the JIXHB over the NIUHB. i was just showing you guys another wierd stepping that isnt doing too bad thats all... anyways i think im going to take a chance and buy one of them retial packages at new egg and see what shows up at my door step? maybe if i dont worry about it and just order ill get somthing nice? too bad i already blew my weekly money on my new NF7 and extra bios chip and bios puller tool this week or id of ordered it tonight? oh well i can wait... oh and God please let me get a JIXHB and not another JIUHB like i have way to many of already... amen! :p: hehehhe later guys....

I know of someone who's done 2550 at 1.75v on air with a XP1800 DLT3C 0320
though mines only doing 2300 at 1.65v with stock cooling

I'm fed up with this. 1.95V and I cant bench a 2100+ at 2.3ghz... I'm ordering one or two of these 1800+s tonight. Where should I buy? Excalibure or newegg?

this sounds like similar reports to when the 1700 wonder chips started comming out. im gunna stick with my 1700. im getting 2260mhz with 1.55vcore to ensure stability.

Just got my JIXHB 1800+ in today, attached the stepping codes and everything below.
I don't know what shop it's from; I bought the sealed retail box from someone on another forum... I guess I can ask him where he got it. Right now running at 2300Mhz (200x11.5) on stock volts (1.5v) on NF7-S, so it looks good so far. Running prime95 as I speak. Unfortunately it froze on Windows bootup at 200x12 so I think this may be as far as it goes on stock volts, but I'll start bumping up the volts shortly and let you guys know the results.
A word of warning, my NF7-S is a bit of a underperformer in my past experiences... and I don't even have my SLK on this rig, only a Vantec Aeroflow. I did just buy a new NF7-S whose previous owner got good results, and I'll probably invest in a new SLK (maybe the 947?) in due time. But hopefully I'll be able to hit 2500Mhz with this setup.

Hmm, seems I've hit a block at 2500Mhz, @ 1.9v. I can't get anything over 2500Mhz stable no matter how high I raise Vcore. I'll fool around with it for a bit, otherwise wait for new mobo and cooling. 2500Mhz certainly isn't bad though, and neither is 2300Mhz at stock 1.5v.

I picked up one of these at Canada Computers about a week ago. I can get 2300mhz on stock vc fully stable, "200x11.5". Right now i'm trying out 2.4 "200x12" on stock, its running prime95 for about a hour then i left for class, so i willl find out when i get home if its stable or not.
my stepping is a:

2.4Ghz on stock volts is just sick... I couldn't even boot Windows at 2.4Ghz/stock volts, needed something like 1.7v. Hope it passes prime!
i cant do that either with my JIUHB's i think the highest i can go on stock voltages is 2200mhz at 1.5v? now with my xp2500barton i can go 2400mhz at defualt v-core just not with my jiuhb series chips... oh well what are you gonna do right?
hey man nice oc keep it going i bet you see alot more out of that thing. those new steppings seem to use less v-core and oc higher than the older chips... i wouldnt be surprised if you came back reporting 2600mhz! good luck man...
