E8600 has coldbug around -100c, E8500 can do about -125c

damn, impressive results. pt1t had the WR for a couple of hours and bam, no more ATI WR for aquamark.

Not yet but looks cool. I guess something like this can be a game changer for 3d benching. Max out your cpu for each game/cpu test. Adds a new element to 3d overclocking. Testing it with 9770C1/GX2 :D

Its a nice board indeed with that FSB, but is it even worth to buy this when Nehalem is just around the corner.

Mobo is fast and clocks like holy hell. Most of these benches just pushing cpu clocks. Alot more effeciency to be had on some 3D and especially 32M.

Not in 01 but in all others yes, tested with 100MHz on air in 06 and it works. 01 I know will detect it and make it invalid.

He meant that he might get hardware for free, but it's not just like that.
You get free hardware to test/review/beta test or overclock with, but there are expectations from the manufacturer, and "targets" to reach and surpass, etc.
e.g. I get free hardware to review, so you might say "Bill is lucky, he gets free stuff, etc"... but behind the scenes, things are a bit different.
It takes me about 200 hours of work to complete a "complex" review ( testing, troubleshooting, measurements, overclocking, photoshooting, modding, and review text composition ).

If I really wanna mess with hw (modds of different sorts) I have to buy it.., in the deal is also to take care of rma´s on customer side...
Margins for dealers on hw is not the happiest of situations.., they have to fight hard to earn a few bucks.., they also take huge risks with hw today.., the stuff barely hold a month.., then a new gpu or mobo is advertised...
Having some left on the shelfs maybe a lot of money lost.., nobody wants the old stuff...
But hopefully everybody can take advantage of what we do.. :)
.., and ofcourse its fun.., its tons if fun.. ;)

I have to say that deadlines are no fun especially for me w/ my anxiety problem :rolleyes: as they expect a certain result results in a specific time frame and I'll be damned if I am going to crew up a good thing that I got going so needless to say I miss a lot of sleep then and a lot of my time is taken up... though not as involved as BZ or other reviewers I just need to get results in a specific time which can be hectic :rolleyes:
Though like fubarswe said it is a lot of fun :up:

To be honest Mark, this board raises some serious ethical issues with submitting legal results to the orb. I wonder what futremark will say about begin able to change your systems speeds for different tests?? The benchmarks are clearly not designed for that. Doesnt this make the results incomparable comparing this platform to others?
Are they going to make all results from this board illegal like they do for the nvidia physX drviers?
Lets see if alot of these people crying about NVIDIA physX drivers in vantage being illegal will ALSO be crying about the XFire results that get put up with these boards in all 3dmarks where cpu speed has been manipulated mid run.
I am running 9770c1 on the mobo now for single card 2006 with GX2. Let's see how much of an advantage tweak it gives wehre it will count the most.
