Hello,

I have some problems with the P5E3 PREMIUM/WIFI-AP@N motherboard.
Can’t get it to boot with 4GB memory. (I have got it to boot sometimes, but that is very rarely).

I have tried with new memory, but without any luck. I have also tried to set the memory to 1066/1333/1600/1800Mhz without any results.
I have also tried with a new motherboard, then I get it to boot one time, but after I reboot it, it will not boot anymore.
I have also tried with a Core2 Extreme QX9650 cpu, with the same results, it won’t boot with 4GB memory. But if I set in Q6600 cpu with 1066FSB
It boot up with no problems. Doesn this board like 1333FSB cpu`s?

The systems spec are:

Hk: P5E3 PREMIUM/WIFI-AP@N
RAM: OCZ3P18002GK DDR3 PC3-14400 1800MHz Platinum EB XTC Dual Channel 2GB Kit(2x1024MB) 8-8-8
CPU: Quad Q9550 2.83GHz
Bios: 0505

Anyone that can help me, out whit this problem?

Sorry for my bad english.

What is the voltage the ram is rated for, my bet is you need to bump it up a bit. or maybe the NB needs a tad bit more. Vmem & Nb are the 1st two settings I would play with.

Voltage is 1.95 I have tried with 1.95 and 2.00 without any luck.

My board won't boot with 4*1GB sticks using the default sub-timings (ie. everything apart from the 8-8-8-24), as Asus tends to be quite aggressive on these. You need to add about 2 clocks to every listed subtiming, which should get it to boot, and then work your way back down until you've worked out what settings you can run at.

Ok, boot with 1 stick in & run memtest, then try the other. More than likely sounds like your going to be doing an rma.

If you read the first post, so can you see that I have already change the memory. I get no erro if I set the memory to 1333Mhz but if I set it to 16000 or 1800, I get many error.

so your able to boot with this new motherboard now ok lets see maybe these errors are false i remember that new bios/motherboard are not been configured properly and that it does not work well with the program, is it working on the os fine if so i wouldnt worry about it until you get random bsod

1. maybe your ram slot is dirty, copper oxidized ... in that case, get a pencil eraser and slightly brush on the copper ram sticks
2. maybe you booted, but winxp could not detect 4gb ... in that case, get winxp 64bit

try it out

Tried this?

If you're using four sticks I think you need to raise voltage a lil higher to get it what you want at actual.
