Hey guys, I havent been on for a while but I am having a few problems with my Dell 2407WFP-HC. I believe it is called "Burn-in", and its getting worse and worse on my dell. It started maybe 2 months ago while i'd have my computer open, with the white background, and the folders would have like a shadow to the right of them. Nothing too bad so I let it go.
Now starting yesterday its gotten severe. Its now noticeable in mozilla and in my folders, but not so bad on the desktop or with notepad expanded, probably because there is nothing but a white screen so nothing can have a shadow. But its very distracting now. Im just wondering if anyone else has this problem and what Dell's policy on this is. I do have a four year warranty that started around 8 months ago btw. Thanks :)

burn in on tfts is not persistent. just set a completely white screen as your screensaver and leave the monitor running like that for some hours. after a while the shadows should disappear.

you can turn the screen brightness down to preserve backlighting life.

... and change your sig. this flashing animation is killing me. looks like an ad banner!

The Dell 2407WFP-HC is infamous for having such problems. I looked at buying this monitor a while ago but decided against it. I seem to remember a thread about it in the Dell forums, have a look for it. I can't remember what their return policy is either, sorry, but I know that a large number of people were quite displeased with their product.
