My buddy has a 24" and when we lan the difference isn't that noticeable. Not worth the extra cost at all IMHO. Oh I have a 22" btw.

In my opinion, the size difference from 22 to 24 is not really that noticeable. If money is no object, I'd say a 24, if its somewhat tight, I doubt you would regret choosing a 22.

22" is MORE than enough. Any more than that and the dollar/inch of screen space goes through the roof.

i almost bought a 24" monitor that was on sale last week even though i have a newish 22" and i'm glad i didn't. i doubt the extra resolution would really make games look much better, and it's guaranteed to make all non-1080p movies to look worse when i scale to fullscreen.

24" or bust. My vote would be for the LG.

"which would be best for gaming"
thats a ez 1 to answer coming from a hardcore g@m3r.
even tho i cannot stand lcds for gaming vs a hi quality crt:shakes: i would say go with thee highest res producing moniter u can afford period.ppl buy top end video cards these days with brute cpu power pushing these cards resulting in AMAZING performance at higher resolutions resulting in INCREDIBLE gameplay.some ppl dont understand the diff between 800x600 vs 1600x1200 in a game.lemme explain briefly here..
when u fire your fav game at a higher res say in some instances almost double comaperd to what your friend might running its simply more game shown on screen.what does that mean?it means if your at 2048x1536 like i run vs some guy running a cheesey lcd at 1024x768 im double his res.what happens here is if were in the air and flying jets for example i can see him come over a mountaintop ALOT easier then his restricted view.ulimtamtly u see more square footage we will say and u have a clear tactical advantage simply because u seen him first.typically most 19-22 lcds these days offer 1400x900\1680 x 1050 res which is ok i guess:rolleyes: but i would NEVER grab any new lcd at this point in time offering NO less then 1920 x 1200.so with that said i would spend the extra cash and grab a 24in lcd hands down to let your killer pc really stretch its legs and run at a bigger res being what u built your comp ultimatly to run at but most limited 19-22in moniters dont offer this.....my 2 cents
i myself would have had 5-6 lcds by now if i thought a lcd could replace one of my hi end crts for gaming.they still have latency issues(lag\speed from card to m0niter vs crt)supior times.the oled moniters coming out for mainstream ppl at decent prices will be my turning point offering EXTREMELY hi res and speed.i have been paintently waiting on these moniters to be released for me to make the official switch over.

thanks for that i see where your coming from and yes latency is what i hate most about lcds even though i have not used an lcd im very particular and would wish too have a 100hz monitor at least, when will this type of te3chnology be out for pc monitors also do you use vsync if so is there any mouse lag, im having serious problems with it cheers:up:

I would personally putthe Samsung 245B ahead of all of those for specifically gaming simply because of its very fast response time and very low input lag.
Out of the ones listed though id go with the Dell2407 as its got good response time, input lag isnt that bad and its a PVA panel.

I just 'updated' from a Viewsonic 20" VX2025wm 8bit (M-PVA) to the LG L246WH 6bit (TN) and all I can say is GRRRRRRRRRRR  :(
The PQ on the TN panel is appalling compared to my 20" screen
I'm now saving for an 8bit 24~26" screen............I will NEVER buy 6bit crap again
