Mine is being held hostage by my wife. At present I am shouting at her with a megaphone through the bedroom window :-
" Don't do anything foolish. Let the small denomination bills go, they are of no use to your demands ... "
I fear for my credit cards.
I'm almost temptedf by the 3.2 EE just to be different and to counter the wave of enthusiasm trying to knock me flat :D
Having said that I'll probably end up with an AMD, or even more likely nothing at all !
Regards
Andy
Frankly, I think the P4's are standing up quite well to the A64's.
I hope AMD has something else up their sleeves to get those clockspeeds up.

clock speeds have not meant much for quite some time.
How fast work is done is the only real messure.

Beah, let them have their little fun with the A64, sooner or later they will come back to Intel, too many problems with non-Intel chipsets :p

yep.. maybe three years... didn't it take that long for Intel to catch up to AMD after the Athlon launch?
The Intel bandwagon has only been in the fast lane for the last 6 months but it's time to move over again... something coming up quick from behind flashing the high beams.... :D

Up to now I have seen 4 benchmarks of AMD 64 on air :-
Quad at Tbreak 2400Mhz
harwareanalysis FX51 2300Mhz
ocworkbench 3200 2200Mhz
x86 secret - 3200 2200Mhz.
Wonder what people will get tomorrow when we start seeing the flood of reviews ?
I would imagine Toms hardware will be one of the first, they always post when German time says it is time and not inefficient USA time :D
Which I totally agree with.

For me its a simple question of economics. I've switched over to Intel and invested alot of money. I can't afford to make a switch right now to AMD64 and just have to settle with whatever Intel comes up with to stick in my current mb's. 6 months from now who knows ?

Overclocking results are still poor for all reviews I have seen apart from Quad's and that was not Xp1700+ stylee itself. Mind you, if it performs that well at stock who cares?
I'll stick with Intel for the moment I think, it's more guarranteed and with these large amounts of money now being asked I cannot afford to experiment and learn the hard way. I'll let AMD guys do that :)

This might very well be AMD's last shot at staying in business as AMD. The FX quantity 1000 price of $700+ and potential shortage of chips could drain already exhausted funds. I wish them luck cause Intel definately needs serious competition.
