hello fellow folders.. any one wane race till 50K?

just a simple question who wants to do a race to 50k, just for fun of it.. looking for a interesting race so don’t go and shout that you wane if you already got sorting like 45K ;) in curently at 17k

just blaze your user name and current count;) and we will se if we can do a race (more than one user would be fun also for the sake of total output for the team ;))

ZOMGVTEK

I was at 20k this morning, until i fired the cruncher up at reduced clocks to deal with the higher heat.

Indeed, lookmomnobrains is going to need level 3 weight reduction and level 3 turbo

I just threw the 8800GTS 640 into a Q6600 rig...

Still cant get the normal CPU client to run on more than 1 core. It wont let me open 2 at the same time!

In the console, set the ID to 1 for the first one, 2 for the second one, etc. when configuring. Make sure you have a separate copy for each instance you want to run in its own folder. Give each one the -local flag as well. That will allow more than 1 to run :yepp:

Hmmm, i must be doing something wrong here.

I recently tried to get my Q6600 and 8800gt folding and maximize it's folding potential. and to my disappointment found XP to lack what it takes to get the job done. here's the scenario's...

BEST Scenario.
if you're on vista and a q6600, then run 2 smp's with ac.... and the gpu2 with higher core priority setting.
Vista is the best scenario, because gpu2 doesn't hog an entire core. and you can still run ac with dual smp's.

NOW THE BAD NEWS FOR XP
this screenshot shows what happens to gpu ppd when smp is running on all cores. gpu is handicapped.

NOW THE GOOD NEWS FOR XP, you can get full gpu ppd, but at the cost of not running dual smp.
if you're on xp. run one smp and one gpu2. gpu needs an entire core in xp to turn full ppd.
dl this app. http://www.geocities.com/edgemeal_software/Files/Set_Affinity_II_1.035.zip
and set fahcore_a1 to affinity 012, and fahcore_11 to affinity 3.
this will allow you to turn full ppd on the gpu2 and run smp on the 3 other cores.
smp priority is still low, so it does not hinder your user cpu requests...
this screenshot shows gpu turning full ppd, with smp running on only cores 0,1,2.

unfortunately when I tried to run AC (affinity changer) with this setup it killed smp, so that kinda takes the possibility for dual smp away from xp with a gpu.

conclusion here is I can turn the best ppd in Vista with dual smp on AC (affinity changer) and a gpu client.. the app needed for XP (set affinity) is not neeeded anymore.

got hit by love so have been kind of buzzy the past view days :D

but today i finely got time to rearrange my blowers and do some system tuning to put out some more horsepower. still waiting for the output results do. also hooked up a ps3. but now need to find some bugged for a supercharger but that will be impossible with some holidays that are coming up.

another g80 card would still be killing me do man :(

Well i only have one G92 24/7, and a G80 thats off and on...

Didnt check the scores since last night @ 28, they were 'updating' forever now.

Hmm...so Vista is better....8800s get about 5K so even if i do get a GTX260 i'll still be mad because they only get 1K more yet they're supposed to be way more powerful

OHNOES!

Im done with folding on my CPU, i get 200-400 PDD with a core... Whats up with that? I had it running for 10+ hours and got ONE WU worth 100pts.

When you say "gave up" I hope you don't mean totally quit. I can see cutting back because of heat right now though. Or just put some machines in other rooms to even out the heat :D

I agree, keep crunching. You got to 50k, but come on, beat me, i'm at 80k. Lets go!

Im not done, just giving my GPU a break. Its been running at 72-74ºC for days straight.

Next goal is 100k... ;)

My 88GTX is my main cruncher and it has been running at 80C almost 24/7 for a few weeks now. 74 isn't going to hurt a G92. It can handle it. Trust me.

74 eh? Wow, mine never goes above 61C on stock cooling.

Well im running 1.4v into the core at higher clocks than you on the stock cooler in 28-29º Ambients.

Where are you at? I could never get an 88GTS to run at 61. It is 44 outside in the daytime! It is hard to keep a comfortable temperature in the house without my electricity bill exploding, which is I guess inevitable. :shakes:
