A person submitted the following overclock on my website:
http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk240/Michel1056/600fsb.jpg
He says he managed to get 600fsb on a Asus Rampage Formula X48 motherboard, which i find very hard to believe since i know many people who have this motherboard (including me) that do not get any further then 520 - 540fsb.
Is this person faking or not?

600 is possible on a dual core, anything over 520 on a quad would be mighty impressive though

x48 mobos can hit over 600fsb.. so this could be real

i managed 530 with my old Q6600 g0...
So you say 600 is very much possible on a dualcore... alright :)
Does this have anything to do with having the newest bios ?

Validation link as requested: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=388122
(i know there are people who are able to cheat validation)

Looks to be valid to me, though.
//EDIT: having looked at the CPU-Z validation, I have doubts as there was a Dutch person named Michel who has been cheating in the past.

your first response gave me the feeling that he was to be trusted since you are pretty much an authority when it comes to validating overclock results.
The reason why i didn't trust this person right away is because of his name... can you have some other hwbot mods look into it?

It can be possible. My rampage does the same. I saw 8*600 on screen two days before but I have only 593*8 validation yet.

I know that having high fsbs on a rampage formula is possible (after reading your topic) BUT you are a very experienced overclocker or at least have been overclocking for a while.. this michel isn't if i have to believe him.. he says he's only been overclocking for +/- 2 weeks

Ok i understand that high fsbs with this motherboard are possible.. it's just that i'm not certain if i should trust THIS overclock because of the given reason by MASSMAN

I think that real.....I can bench with Rampaga Formula in FSB 590 and 580 with 3D bench on my E8400 :)

Real. On newest bios high FSB isn't any problem. My X48 Rampage boots @ 600 FSB with E8500, 580 stable for benching, 590 windows/sp 1m, about ~595 max screen. So this shouldn't be a fake :)

Sure, it's possible. Why not? Duals will always have more FSB potential than quads, anyway.

thats my own X38 which I can hit well into 575 easy on.
I've hit 600 on it too as you can see here.
if I can do this with a board this old.
theres no reason why someone cant do better with these newer boards.
I have a thing I say often...
just cause you cant do it, doesnt mean it cant be done.
