I have been driving myself nuts trying to decide between the the two above boards. There is a wealth of information about the Maximus II Formula but virtually nothing about the new P5Q Premium.
The feature set is very, very close. I like the extra USB ports and RAID options on the premium but on the other hand . . . .
Anyone have any hands on with the P5K Premium? It seems like it has been available long enough that there should be a few floating abound out there.

Go with the maximus and you won't regret ;)

Go with the Maximus II.........

Why? Well, technically you don't need extra RAID when the ICH10-R can handle up to 8 drives, you don't necessarily would need a 2nd RAID controller.

Also, it comes with an X-Fi card, which may not mean or be a huge improvement over a PCI card by itself but at least it's not integrated.

Premium has 8 USB ports, Maximum has 8 ports as well, except they'll take a PCI slot but it's not like you'd need one of those PCI-Ex1, so block that and you'd have 8 ports as well.

I've looked at all the ASUS P45 boards and I'm going definitely with the Maximus II, except the Q9450 isn't $200 yet, so I'll wait till then.

An important question for me is whether the overclocking capabilities are the same with both boards being P45 chipset.
I have not been able to find anyone thus far who has any actual experience with the P5Q Premium board.
