I have just purchased the P5Q deluxe motherboard and am having problems installing windows XP. About half way through installation I get a blue screen saying installation will not continue.
I am using a q6600 go stepping processor, en8800gt graphics card and Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5(5-5-5-18)

I have used identical processor and memory from another computer so it is definitely not memory or processor at fault.

The memory I have used was used previously in ASUS motherboards but does appear in the P5Q deluxe mobo manual's list of compatible memory. Do people think it may be due to incompatible memory?

I have not updated the bios of the motherboard as retailer said they think the board may be faulty and to return the item.
can you help with this problem....?

Regards

Plz update to 0704 bios, then set appropriate voltage for the ram in the bios and try again with ya installation... is it only the mobo and Gfx card you want to install ? any other add on card ? does XP BSOD each time at the same spot ?

Many thanks for the reply to my problem.....
I have ordered some new memory that does appear in the users manual:-

OCZ 4GB Kit (2x2GB) 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory Platinum Performance CL5 (5-4-4-18) 2.1 Volts

so hopefully this will work better.

Apologies for the separate post for this particular mobo but this is my first post and am new to computer building.......please be patient and don't mock the afflicted
