I have a P35 board (Asus P5K Pro) and I'm wondering if it's worth the extra to get DDR2-1066 over DDR2-800. Let's say if I go with DDR2-800 then it can be done easily if I OC the E8400 to 3.6Ghz but if I go to 4.0Ghz then I have to OC the RAM as well to 444Mhz. If I use DDR2-1066 then my RAM will be downclock when I hit 4.0Ghz and is that a good or bad thing?
Btw, the timing for DDR2-800 is 4-4-4-12 and DDR2-1066 is 5-5-5-15.
The motherboard supports 1066 natively so it's better if I go with DDR2-1066?

The Crucial Ballistix. I already got 2x1GB PC6400 but I saw the PC8500 on sale at Fry's for $25 after rebate so I'm thinking of getting if it's worth the hassle. :D

dont buy more balistex they are single sided trash now, if u want more ram they have a 4GB corsair kit and if u make sure that u get a powerchips (psc) rev it will do 1066 5-5-5-15 stable with 2.1V and u may get them to 1150 if u are good with the settings (dont go over 2.1V with powerchips u wont get any more clocks)

Sigh...since when all the products used to have such great reputation just go bad lately, Enermax PSU for example and now Crucial. :(
I just went to newegg and found out the Crucial PC8500 do have lot of problems like sudden death after using for awhile.
But don't get me wrong, I have 4x1GB Crucial Ballistix in my 1st rig and it works just fine with my Q6600. Guess I might need another.
Btw, you guys have any recommendations for a 2x2GB set for my Q6600? I'm just gonna use the Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 for the E8400for now.

i would get the gskill 1066 or mushkin redline 1000mhz, both are powrchips and equal clocking

For the E8400 or Q6600? For Q6600 I think I only need DDR2-800 since I run my Q6600 at 400x9 so DDR2-800 should be enough isn't it?
I thought for E8400 which has 333Mhz FSB then I might need 1066 in order to OC over 4.0Ghz.
