A Start - I am working on settings for higher speeds but I popped them in @ DDR3-1800 w/ 7-7-7-24 2T P1 enabled... I got into windows and forgot about memset still loading the old profile 7-6-6-16 2T... well I had Everest opened up and did a quick test and was pleasantly surprised with the read speed (just have the free right now.. I don't have the extra cash to purchase the full version right at this moment ->

My conclusion after about 5 hours : I think 12~~~ is were its at - though I think it would be best served using a QX that could do 450MHz and just up the multi from there as 450 linked 2:1 seems to give best performance - w/ 7-6-6-16 1T P1&P2 though it will be interesting to see these on a intel chipset... that may be in the books for me - we will see, may get some 4850s and play with them :D

BTW, any chance of finding out what ICs are on your kit of these sticks?

Same ram on a ASUS 790i
I still need to install everst, and this is my first try on T1.

Jesus, just go into BIOS and Enable EPP, it will do a lot better than you did with manual settings :)
Why people show results that are under default mfg specs? This is xtremesystems.

You might not even see the chips names because they stamp them with their name.
I got down to 8-6-6-24 t1 so far.
Still playing.
I set a setting then test for an hour or more then move it down one and do it again.

The heat spreader has a very strong bond IDK if I can get it off w/o taking a chip off...
Ballistix use one of the easiest thermal adhesives to remove in the industry and like Jugeen said, a good shot with the hair dryer will make it much easier. with that said, there is still a risk and if your not 100% comfortable with it...don't let some jerk in a forum convince you to potentially damage your memory.
BTW...i'm the jerk :D
but seriously...if your not comfortable doing it then definitely don't. nothing can replace that feeling when you scrap a kit of nice memory.

i had one of those kits
i don't know if the ICs were the same or not but i had no issues with 1T
however i did read a while back when ppl first started OCing that some just could not run for the life of them.......i don't know if it was SPD or something else..from memory i think someone had a crucial kit which didn't cooperate but at the same time you'd have another user with a similar setup say it did......it was just all very odd in the beginning
it could be your board or SPD you never know i guess

please don't remove heatspreaders
it will gain you nothing and could pull off an IC
i don't know about crucial but i know if you try this :banana::banana::banana: with corsair you are likely to pull off a bit more with the heatspreader than just adhesive as we've just seen recently on i4memory with one of our members :(

NO - my first pair of DDR3 was G.Skill (CHEAPO STUFF:rolleyes:) then I got OCZ PLATINUM 7-7-7-20 (D9 JNL) and I tried a couple of times to run 1T without success (only at lower timings)... I think at the time I was a DDR3 newbie or a immature BIOs (think it was me :D )
But let me clarify these have no problems running 1t  and you can look at screenies in first post and see the results/ timings

Oh I am working on it - I will have to foot it on my own for the GTs but I figure I can come out on top after I sell my 9600GTs and all the GSOs only to buy some 8800GTs that I will get in trouble for getting

there is a world of difference between Crucials thermal adhesive (adhesive pad) and Corsairs thermal adhesive (cured on contact cement :D )
pulling heat spreaders isn't to try and get any more out of them, i was simply curious as to what was under them. it also sounds like this may have been given to you as a sample, if so, please state so. any time you have non-retail hardware and are posting results for it, you want to state so.

There very well could be, mine had errors at 2Ghz so I RMAed them(at 1600 passes it started to error). On the next set I will take the spreader off again, and be sure to post pics. I ran out of batteries for my camera before I could take pics of the last set:(

Oh I'm not suspecting handpicking or anything, but the fact you guys got it from Crucial direct might indicate older or at least a different stock.
All Crucial RAM screams, it's barely even worthwhile to handpick it lol.

yeah, thats the thing, it is so hard to say when and where everyone is getting their memory from. it is no different from the G.Skill HZs where older were GTR, and now it is a lottery of GTS, JNL, or who knows what anymore. not a fun time if your looking for a specific IC.

My 1030 C7 set is from RMA, so it probably comes from more or less the same place your guys did. My earlier ones were from mwave.com. They were also good, but about 25MHz worse than these I'd say.

And not fun at all since all current micron GTS has a bug, random freezing... And the classic GTR, the good ones, are on the old sticks...New isnt as strong... Just like we saw back in the day with WB chips... (BH5/CH5/BH6)...
But maybe, with DDR3, we are lucky and they will get better..... 1.35v micron might be interesting... (no, I cant get any and test - not yet)

Yeah I got the slip in front of me and it is just a Crucial store order - ordered by Crucial Promotions... so as far as I can see too along with 3oh6 this is not cherry picked and Gautum's suspicion that these may be older or different stock may hold water as I I usually never order from a company store - usually an e-tailer that has multiple brands (so I take it others follow that same line usually)

i started to test this kit in Rampage Extreme and my experience was that dual channel is totally unstable even at 1800 CL8 w/ 2.0 vdimm. each sticks are rock stable in single channel mode. i dumped their spd and compared them and there is difference. maybe the S/N makes difference. tried to update one's spd to another but the latest spdtool gave error. so to swap the spd between sticks is impossible. 2000+ cl8 is easy for this mobo. if someone who has the same kit would send his spd i would appreciate it.

yeah, the Rampage Extreme is hating my Ballistix sticks...they are doing better than yours but still nothing fantastic. 1030MHz is the absolute max at CL8 for single 32M or anything more strenuous that 1M. that is at 1.95v and more vDIMM isn't helping...clearly something is up with this MB. either that or the skews really need to be adjusted. i have played with them a bit but got no where really fast.
SPDTool should work for updating SPDs, i forget what version i was using for DDR3 that works fine but will post it and the PC3-16000 SPD from my sticks in about 1/2hour...i'll fire you a PM at that time too.
FWIW, i also found major issues with a kit of Mushkin Ascent PC3-12800 2x2GB kit that i suspect is Micron based as well. XMP wouldn't even run without switching to 2T and they wouldn't clock past 820MHz CL7 or CL8. a kit of G.Skill PC3-12800 PI 2x2GB are clocking no problem up to 900MHz CL7 with 1.95v so something is definitely not liking the Mushkin kit in this board.
check out the thread in my signature about the Rampage Extreme for any screenshots and more commentary by myself on the kits i have tested.
***here are the SPD files for both sticks, labeled -1 and -2***

SPD Tool 0.62 used for pulling the SPDs and this is the same version that works for writing SPDs to DDR3. it doesn't read them 100% and says that it isn't compatible or something when you go to write an SPD i think...but it works. i take no responsibility for a bad write ;)

Thanks Jody for the SPDs. It's new for me that Crucial uses different SPD for each sticks. I try to get a new S2E mobo to check my kit in it. Maybe my mobo doesn't like it.

please don't remove heatspreaders
it will gain you nothing and could pull off an IC
i don't know about crucial but i know if you try this :banana::banana::banana: with corsair you are likely to pull off a bit more with the heatspreader than just adhesive as we've just seen recently on i4memory with one of our members :(
:shakes: Hmmm... I wonder who did such a dumb thing to suich nice ddr2 9136 dominators... I wonder....

FYI - this memory dropped to $401 on the EGG but remains at $475 on the Crucial site
