Bought this 4GB kit yesterday and it's running at 1133MHz with default 1.9V :D, runs very cool but the only drawback is the heatspreaders...they are very tall and my fan setup had to be moved, thus i might have to remove the default heatspreaders and replace them with something else

Overall impressed thus far, 1.8-1.9V...very low voltage for 1100MHz, some overclocking potential.

Really nice.

Please hook us up with picks of the ICs (PSC of some kind no doubt) when you take off the retarded heatspreaders.

I doubt more vdimm is going to get you much farther though...PSC doesn't really scale with voltage from what i've seen.

Nice results !
Watch out with removing heatspreader, its not as easy as other G.Skill kits...

Your babies might do 700mhz ;)

Since one of my Team Xtreem D9GMH sticks just died on me I think this will be my new mem. I haven't been a fan of 2x2GB kits until now when I see some 2x2GB kit that might even beat my 2x1GB kit in benchmarks and besides prices are so low today would be pretty stupid to go 2GB. This is some really impressive kit and not too expensive either. Doesn't seem to clock nice with lower timings but high frequency and loose timings beat lower frequency and loosened timings anyways so and if I could get this kit to run at 8x500 fsb with 1.2x ram divider = 600MHz I'll be REALLY pleased. ^^

Or what you do you think, does DDR2-1200 5-5-5-15 with loosened subtimings beat DDR2-1000 4-4-4-8 with tightened subtimings (bw & latency) ?

its kinda equal just slight more bandwidth @ 1200+

OK, thx.

EDIT: did some quick test with single channel here and seems now it can boot at DDR2-1200 which was impossible with both sticks plugged in. I checked:

DDR2-1000 (8x500 1:1) 4-4-4-8 and subtimings 25-11-11-5-5

VS

DDR2-1200 (8x500 + 1.2x divider) 5-5-5-15 and subtimings 45-14-14-5-5

Results were interesting in Everest:

DDR2-1000 ~7500MB/s read and ~53ns

DDR2-1200 ~8830MB/s read and ~52ns

For comparision's sake I had ~9950MB/s and 49ns in dual channel mode with the same DDR2-1000 4-4-4-8 config as above when both sticks still worked. Anyways sorry for going offtopic, I just wanna confirm the purchase isn't a waste as I really care much about ram performance as well and I'm not 100% sure I wanna buy some powerchip 4GB kit instead of good ol 2x1GB micron D9 kit or maybe 4x1GB...

me i'm addicted to d9 i gave my redline to my son
redline maxed out@ 1142mhz gave good bandwidth@ high fsb but latency was not close
lowest i managed was 50 but them pc2-9600 sticks would be nice to have
i run mine @1200+ @ 2.0v as i only need 2 gigs for surfin
gaming i run 1200+x4
4-4-4-8 1000 n cas 5 1200 is pretty close on d9
my dfi boards are picky on ram though i got 2 sets of d9ghm it dont like
i see the prices droppin on powerchips like crazy if you can get those 9600@120$ would be good
i saw mushkin acent pc2-8500 @ 100$ and was tempted to buy them but if they didnt do 1200+ i woulda been dissapointed
if i ever see the pc2-9600 gskills @ 100-130$ i will buy them 100%
but i wont tempt my luck no more even with pc2-8800

u should hold off for the 9600 ones if you havnt already ordered

I will try my luck with this PC2-8800 kit as I need to order a new kit ASAP and can't wait for PC2-9600 kit to become available. If I've got bad luck with it I might swap to the other kit in future.

EDIT: WTF, the ram stick I thought was dead is alive and kickin again, zombie Team Xtreem RAM stick ftw! I can assure you I tried at least 6+ times unplugging and plugin in it again and tried different slots and it always never started but it always started on the first time I tried with the other stick. Then this last time I tried to start it up, I pressed the power button almost immediatly after flipping on the PSU power switch and somehow comp booted. TBH though, it's probably a sign that it will die sooner or later as I've already got some random crashed in UT3 which I've thought been CPU or mobo instability but perhaps it's this RAM stick that is the cause.

As for the G.Skill set I think I'll still decide to at least give it a try and of course provide you with results in that case as many haven't tried this set out yet and if it doesn't reach the desired DDR2-1200 mark (or DDR2-1000 4-4-4-x) I might keep this old micron D9GMH set a bit longer unless huge problems with instability arise.

Oh and here's the zombie ram in action again at dual channel in the 24/7 config:

http://img74.imageshack.us/img74/4413/memperformanceoc3.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Not bad for these clocks, one of the reasons I haven't considered upgrading to 4GB earlier as this is a quite fine 2x1GB DDR2-667 3-4-4-8 specced D9GMH ram that only require 2.2v to reach 4-4-4-x @ DDR2-1000+ or 5-5-5-x close to DDR2-1200.

now you can wait for the price to drop on them 9600s

Yea but do you think I should try this 8800 kit at all though, cuz I can't decide really but I've already ordered it. I don't really need more than 1200 so if it hits that I'm fine, as I just wish to keep running the cpu at 500x8 and get some decent ram performance too. Well I'm prolly going to give it a try at least.

Actually I'm gonna listen to your advice and cancel the order now before they ship it as I've NEVER had really much luck which I'd need in this case too and besides the kit was overpriced here where I bought it as it was the only site in Finland that had them so far as I started checking what it costed in for example Germany and turned out to be 40 EUR cheaper there, I'm not ultra picky about prices but I'm not that willing to paying 43% more for same product.

personnaly i rather pay more for something better
if i feel lucky i'll goto the casino
i was tempted in buyin the mushkin 8500s for 100$ but i will wait n i will buy a set of the 9600 to play with
@ 500fsb+ i need either cas4 or 1200mhz+ or not worth nothing to me
i gave away my set cause they only did 1142mhz:rofl:

Oh my!!! I just did the same thing!!!! I have already filled out the RMA form! Thank you, thank you. I guess 4 attempts at reinstalling wasn't enough.:up:
D9GMH @ Perfomance Level 5 is hard to give up.

What are the chances I will get 1128Mhz with this kit, I need 1128MHz guarantee otherwise is a waste.
I'm planning to get this pair on newegg, if it can't do 1128MHz can I return to get the F2-9600CL5D-4GBPI model

1200 @ 2.0v CAS 5 really is good for PSC and 2 x 2GB sticks. At least we have something to replace our D9 with (when it finally dies) that performs well, even if only at CAS 5.

Not bad results.

G.Skill seems to be binning stuff pretty tightly, so there's not likely much headroom on those kits
