Sorry to make a new thread about this, but I just got my folder back up a couple of days ago and am getting an error when trying to send results from finished wu's, and hoping maybe you guys can help me out. Just running a single smp with xp 64. Heres a log:

Any ideas on how to get my results accepted? I've never seen this before. The wu's are completing without errors. I'm thinking of just trashing what I have and intall vista. Doesn't vista work better with the gpu2 client anyway?

Sounds like a server hiccup to me. I think something like this happened once before, like a long time ago... can't say for sure tho

Gawd that error drove me nuts back in March... I went through several xp and vista installs.
finally more errors appeared outside the client, like when unpacking zips, installing software, blah, blah...

all this happened within about 4 weeks of the new build. and it progressed from running great the first week, to getting those darn dig sig errors in the client, to os corruption..
I had used those single sided ballistix 97432 batches in the build. replaced the ram and it fixed it.

the fah errors were were probably from the results being corrupt.. eventually other programs started spitting out checksum errors when unzipping files and uncompressing software pkgs.. but it drove me nuts for a good couple weeks before I figured it out...

that may not be your problem... but from the error message, that's what I was seeing.
and it was because the completed work files were getting corrupted.. and the results dig sigs didn't line up in the end, so the server kept spitting them back.

that may not help, but that's what mine was.. I'm sure there are all kinds of reasons for that error though..

I was thinking that something might be corrupted. That was why I took it down in the first place, I had a stick of ram go bad. I think I'm just going to wipe it out and go with vista to get ready for the cheap 8800GT I just ordered.

Thanks guys :toast:

yeah the ram was my issue the whole time... those bad ballistix just took about 4 weeks before they degraded enough to throw enough errors for me to suspect it.
the dam fah dig sig errors went on for almost 2 weeks before that, I had many hair pulling moments those 2 weeks. went through 3 os installs trying to fix it, that 3rd time really clued me in when all the software pkgs were checksum erroring on install. it was pretty apparent I had a hardware issue at that point. first thing I did was swap the ram, the next os install went without a hitch, and the clients dig sig errors disappeared...

Vista and cheap Gigabyte 256mb 8800GT FTW! :D That card is a good folding value..
ups delivered mine yesterday, wiped xp this morning after I wasn't happy with the results last night.
Installed vista today, much better... dual smp's with ac and gpu2, no probs...

So GPU2 doesn't get along with XP too well? Hmm then maybe i don't feel so bad about not getting one.

yeah, smp/gpu2 equals affinity, cpu util, and bottleneck headaches with xp....
this was my little xp smp/gpu2 adventure I mentioned above, from last night. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3127955&postcount=6

So then anyone know where I can get Vista for under $95? Legally ;) I can get vista ultimate through my school for $95 so I may just do that... Even if I don't use it for this, I'm going to need to upgrade to it anyway and I do like it. $95 seems to be rather cheap too for it.
