This is a tough one, i got a GTX 260 (awsome card for folding) and a 8800GT currently the 8800GT is not being used.
So is there a way to put the 2 cards on my motherboard and to fold? there is one more pick i got a X48 mobo but that shouldnt be an issue as i dont intend to SLI.
Ideas are welcome

You need command-line arguments in shortcut to FAH to select which gpu the program runs on.

but should i just plug the other cards and windows will see it? i want both GPU to run the program.

Yeah, should be no issues if you use all nV or all ATI cards.

what about drivers? GT200 arent compatible with 8800GT i should just mod the inf?

You need to use the CUDA drivers and I think the latest ones are good for both.

There is the Unified driver architecture in it's glory:D
are you going to put a QC or DC cpu in it?
Just wondering how SMP+gpu+gpu wouldl play together:confused:

I play to use my E8500, not sure how much the CPU affects when is used by the GPU client.
I wish i had a Quad, couse i leave a core alone so i can work with the PC without feeling it slow.
This weekend i'll do this mix :)

The drivers support all cards 6 and above but CUDA is only 8 series and above. For folding you really don't want anything less than an 8800GS. Metro ic looking at a 260 and an 88GT anyway which are both supported

If you're running vista, no issues w/ SMP & GPU. Xp requires a core per GPU client.

Guys, i need some help. I have two cards... 8800gts 512mb & 8800gt 256mb.
Set up two folders w/ the 3 ddl files & .exe file. added the command line arguments for the 2 different shortcuts. It tells me that the core will be shut down & pausing for 24 hours. Any ideas?
Edit:
It keeps telling me that the machine is unstable, even w/ one instance.

That sounds like a Mak2000.trojan.fap virus. :D:D
Maybe it reads the 2 clients as the same 'Machine ID'? You'll have to look in the config files in the folders... or the log files will tell you machine ID.

Very VERY good point good sir! I should have thought of that. How do I change the machine ID? Its simple in SMP, but idk about GPU.

No! What BETA are you using. I'm 6.12 Beta11 ? That option did not come with the core per se, it came with the beta.

Hmm.... I know I was using core 1.07 (saw it in FAHMON when i was running one instance the normal way). I think I'm using beta 8. Where's beta 11?
Edit:
I've seen beta 11 is hard to find now. How do I change the machine ID in anther way?
[XC] riptide
07-22-2008, 06:36 PM
Beta 11 is on one of the threads here. Its the fact that beta11 changes the Core BACK to 1.06 is the issue. :) So you gotta keep Core 1.07 and drop it back into the Folders when reinstalling.
Anyways I'd guess you could edit the config files in the folders. I never had to manually do it myself. :)

I found beta 11, still no machine ID option. I'm not having the best of luck, lol.
Where's the config file name? I thought it was config.fcg or something (I know I have the wrong extension, just an example).
Edit: i posted after u just posted. I'll try it. Thanks!
Edit 2: Changed the machine ID. I STILL get that error. . machine is unstable? Its still loading the exact same molecule to test....

Pardon my crappy camera phone!
All 4: TV + 3 monitors (yes, its a 1920x1080 monitor too, not just a TV!)

3 monitors: note the monitor in the middle mounted horizontally

Now if I could just fold on two cards..... *taps fingers on desk*

You don't know the half of it. ;)
Sadly, I need ANOTHER card for a 5th monitor.
Oh, if you notice.... there's a bottle behind the middle monitor. I know what your thinking... its lube. NO! Its ranch dressing. Why ranch dressing you might ask? I ask, WHY NOT!

I think riptide took a nap (can't blame him, I would!). Anyone else got this working?
Riptide, I have not lost faith, I'm just impatient and posing points by the second!

Synth is lying and I have proof. I just took a picture of his room. I had to censor some of it though.

Just noticed your screen. I NEVER saw that message on the handful of WU's I've done. Never. Course I'm no expert at this. :p:
Did you try stock clocks?

I uninstalled the original client and reinstalled and now it won't work either. Strange again..
I am trying this:

Now I can't find 1.07 core. Anyone know of a working link?

What about stock clocks? Are you on stock?

Sorry riptide, called the g/f
The GPU client automatically goes to the 8800gt and its stock. I am unclear as to how to fix this mess. Just my luck, ha! I can lower the 8800gts, but I don't see why as its not picking that GPU.

Right. Well I reckon you might have to go to Project forums for that. If I had 2 GPU's I'd help further...

NP. I might try to disable the 8800gt for a bit and just install one instance for now.
Thanks for all the help!
We'll all have to discuss this later on. It seems to work in xp, vista is problematic w/ multi-client set ups.

Do u have two instances of GPU running on a vista pc? Care to share where you got the walkthrough from. I am lost. i can so close and this DLL problem is odd, although i have read about it before.
F@H needs one client that'll run multiple GPUs! Pick which gpu, hit enter. Pick another, hit enter! Lol
Edit:
I tried this walkthough, but I had some trouble.
