Still under construction
- Managed to corrupt HDD, so recovering pics atm ;)

Furthermore, will get expanded throughout July... Diff mobo and compared to singlesided as for MCH - along with compared subtimings..

As JNM vs. GTS is same as JNL vs. GTR, I'm asking for 2x2GB GTS as well for thte expansion.
-----

Quite some time ago I received a pair of;
G.Skill PC12800CL7-4GBPI

Sadly I've been busy with alot of stuff, and out of motherboard!

So today I've tested a little....
ASUS P5E3 DLX (X38)
2x 300GB Maxtor (one backup all the time ;))
8800GT
E6850 (yea yea, someone fried his 5.6ghz wolfie)
2x2GB DDR3

Cooling:
water @ CPU
Swiftech sink @ NB
Stock @ GFX
120mm @ NB + RAM

Last week I had a good benching session along with ODOC (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3124546), and while setup was being configurated, I took of the heatspreader, which, sadly, is very difficult to get off....
Underneath "the hood", I saw D9JNM, which suprised me a little, as they didnt have success with them in lab.

Method;
No need for wasting time on running tons of BW tests, as I dont target interest of mainstream user, and most enthuciasts are aware that chipset is bottleneck... In short; 1M testing only, and 32M to confirm stability.
- Oh, and for finding where it will be interesting... Memtest for windows.. ;)

First off:
Finding max FSB.....
Sadly, this is 475-485mhz, depending on room temperature... - Waterblock didnt help..... And couldnt mount the Mach II (not that I tried :rofl: )
(vmch messing with X38 as well :shakes: )

Second;
Finding sweetspot as for vdimm.... Using tightest possible timings they'll boot at...

Result:
6-6-6-12 is tightest they will boot at.... and 2.06-2.10v, depending on temperature....

The kit;

Config;
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/5951/pict0034nx3.jpg

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/1897/pict0040up0.jpg

Finally some results....
Just a teaser....!

CL6:
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/1817/89166615qf3.jpg

CL7:
http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8395/95076615cs9.jpg

Didnt test higher, as mobo didnt allow me to... Stay tuned.. ;)

EDIT1:
Attached my mach II last night, and facing some quite other frequencies...
Further I've found the measuring point for vdimm, and it says 1.97-8v when 2.10v in BIOS..

- Working on the 32M runs, but really hard on NB - hoping for new board very soon!

so single sided memory stresses NB more? or requires more voltage?

Insane CL6 memory clocks at low voltage:eek: Very nice Marc!

I wait your tests.. :up:

So this is what you do when you're not in the shoutbox. ;)

Nice going, we want more :UP:

what TRD was you running for this? Also what die revision are these IC's, part number is worthless, you need to quote die and week codes. Parts change week by week and die to die.

Hi Tony, I agree with you, but, atm, I dont know the production manager at G.Skill, so I cant tell anyone what ram to hunt especially, thats why I've chosen not to write anything, additionally, I dont think this is exceptional :)

I can take of heatspreader again soon, right now Im not up for it as I cut my finger on a aluminium case :shrug:

But, timings were weak in general, didnt want to tune in further, the motherboard is killing me... Im trying to get a 790...
.. Hmm, try to look at the picture of the sticks, maybe your eyes are sharper then mine, everything should be visible... Its just a sample out of the production line, nothing fancy...

ymer,
I dont know, but just below 300 USD would be my guess..

Next time I will show memset as well, but I didnt change anything in it, so didnt open it - I will once I get down'n'dirty next time :)

Nice memory :) I also love D9 JNM. I have 2x2 GB Goodram ES based on this sort of IC. Tomorrow I shall post another OC Report ;) (I hope, I have to recover from vacations :) ). I tested them on S2E (1000+) and Blitz Extreme (~ 950) (On weekend - I shall try borrow some P45 Asus boards). For example - 2000 8-8-8-24 @ 1.8v no problem for SPI32M :rolleyes: on NV of course

Push them!

And then ofc. memset screenie as well.

nice kits too, but much more beautiful new avatar bro :D

Thanks :)

Could it possibly be the same chips on these: F3-12800CL7D-4GBP?

Yes, its very likely it is, the PI series is only based on JNL and JNM I belive - so far atleast..

Thanks for that. The HZ RAMs cost about $300 in north america, I'm thinking of getting them instead. I suppose they should be D9 on them as well, or is that stupid of me? :)

Looking forward to new results of the kit, looks like you'll break 2GHz pretty easily with a bit more voltage/relaxed timings. Any ETA on new results?

M.Beier
07-10-2008, 08:49 AM
They have D9GTS on atm, but this is likely to change soon...
Eta is when I get another motherboard, one of the guys from ODOC just received a X48-T3R, it should do. :)

what is the best result at 1T ?

Everything is soon sorted out... Just some stuff.... Moving outta my flat, so been moving all my stuff and getting settled - and moving again within next quater... Bah..

jpcastro;
1T / 2T is only a matter of mch, and mch is very weak on the board, its not ram dependant... I cant even select 1T, it wont boot at any frequencies I recall...
