xfx 780i shuts down when turned on

hi everyone,

I have an xfx 780i motherboard (got it 2-3 months ago) and it worked flawlessly till a week ago.

since then my system shuts off when i try to boot it up. when i press the power botton every component starts(fans at max speed,leds,motherboard display,everything starts) for about 30 secs.the motherboard LCD is stuck on FF and there is no video.After those 30 secs the pc sometimes loads the bios (and the codes start showin up on the little LCD) and sometimes it just shuts down (and on the motherboard the blue and the yellow light stay on)

my components are : q6600 CPU,corsair dominator 2x1GB,9800gtx,zalman 9700 CPU cooler and a tagan BZ 700 PSU

every single component has been tested except the motherboard and the PSU

I hope someone can help me out of this situation!

P.S. I have tried every single bios version but same result...

Do you have another power supply you can try? It is too dark to see in the video but I can see the red light by the CPU is on and when you are getting instant FF it is probably something to do with the CPU. Make sure you have the 8 pin connection plugged in snugly. I wouldn't think that it would come loose but I suppose it have been bumped if you were in there recently. Try another power supply if you can.

I'll try another PSU but I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.

The 8pin is not loose so I really don't know.:shrug:

If another power supply doesn't do it than I would have to guess the motherboard went south. In that case start a ticket at http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support.aspx and PM me the ticket number.

FF is a cable error on the 790I mostly casued by the case led and power switches try taking the reset cable out a see if it will work.790 and 780I are nearly the same motherboard execpt for DDR2/3.

ASUS Striker ii extreme 790I
3x GTX 280
X4 DDR3 1600MHZ
Core 2 duo e8500 @ 4.16GHZ
