Hi folks, I'm dying to see comparison of 3DM Vantage CPU scores between Ageia PPU (PCI-e one would be sweet) and GeForce GPU (I guess G92 and up). If someone has both could you post some scores? ;)

Another thing I was wondering about... Is it possible to run display on HD4870 and physics on 8800gt on the same mobo?

Regards,

just pull up the orb and look at all of the gtx 280 scores, they used a "cheat" (at least until the ruls change) and they score vary high on the cpu becouse its doing gpu physics, and alot of the gx2 and 9800gtx have the same problem, and they are easy to spot

From what I've read, it's not possible to do so in Vista just due to driver issues. It may be possible in XP. It may also be possible if Nvidia changes the drivers in the future to allow for a GPU to masquerade as a PPU.

if you're just looking for a high 3DMark score, don't bother. the Nvidia driver in question was never submitted to Futuremark for approval because they knew it didn't follow FM's rules and would never be approved. any Vantage score earned with that driver doesn't count because it wasn't run using an FM-approved driver.

Vantage aside, and all this cheating scandal... I'm more interested in comparing Ageia PhysX PPU 128Mb DDR3 PCIe vs GeForce G92/G92b GPU. Since new driver and nVidia software support both we should be able to compare those head to head.

Again, I don't care much about cheating, more performance levels...

i was saying that while the "cheating" scores on there u could compare, the gforce leaves the PPU in the dust

also u can only run 1 video driver at a time so u cant mix ati and NV card on vista, and ati is getting openCL agea with 8.7 or 8.8, and ati also has openCL havoc soon and NV will never get it since they started the anti intel cpu stuff (blizz activishion, and ea are moving to havoc)

I have an Ageia card I ran vantage & got like 22-25 ops. on the second cpu test. yes the card works in it when it comes up.

I scored around P8,000

the futuremark orb shows like 8-10 for cpu & systems with out ageia cards. but with cpu at 3.9ghz you can get close.
