I don't know jack about video cards, but I'm thinking of getting a 4850 so I have some interest in this subject.

There's already a poll for 4870's that have died - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=192937 - but I thought it would be a good idea to get a picture of how many people have 48xx series cards and how they're working out. If you check off the 4870 fail box, please also vote in the other poll.

THIS IS A PUBLIC POLL.

It is also multiple selection - just in case you didn't notice the check boxes in place of the radio buttons.

there's already a thread about the 4870 dying (a few threads below this one), including a poll.

but i'm also interested in the 4850... there seems to be quite a few people who got troubles with their cards :/

Over in the other thread(the other thread link (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=192759&page=10)) it has been determined that the modded BIOSes are the WRONG SIZE and killing the cards. Just don't mod it with the old BIOSes and all will be ok...

Dude there's no reason for this poll, the poll I made was sufficient, not to mention the fix is already out. Its quite simple, if your 4870 died its because of 1 of three things, you either did a bad flash, oc'd too far and killed your card due to overheating, or you just got unlucky and recieved a bad card that was going to die anyways. This problem does not affect 4850s either, and all who say they didn't flash their card and it died, either they are lying or killed it/got unlucky, there's really not much else that could have happened, not to mention w1zzard confirmed it was due to a bad flash that the 4870s stopped working
