Like the title says, how high would you let it go? I'm reaching 72c now, been going up steadilly since it's been folding and even 4x80mm fans and 2x120mm fans pulling air out off my case through a rad can't keep the heat from building up. Can't turn fans higher their at max and my 9600gt is to blame. Cpu temps have rissen 5c to 8c in conjunction since my rad is cooled by air from my case.

Cpu temps are well within acceptable still but I'm unfamiliar with gpu folding and I'm worried what the max temp you would let it run 24/7?

From what people have posted, GPUv2 seems to be VERY hard on the single slot cards, namely 8800gt and 9600gt. My 8800gts g92 is running at 60 C max. This is every day while it is on. I leave the side of my case open and I'm not even remotely concerned.

What is the max acceptable temp for the 9600gt? I'd probably not let it go above 5 C below its max. IE, if the max is 80C, I wouldn't let it creep above 75C, but that's just me. The GPU client seems to hit the video cards hard. Maybe you need to buy some after market cooling?

Idk the max temp, that's why I asked lol.. I am now taking the side off, didn't know why I didn't before ( maybe my ears will tell me in a second ) thanks

Edit: nope ears don't complain about 50% fan speed and all my case fans.. which I can turn down without the window I think.

I'm hitting 46C....

YAY WATER! :rofl::yepp::p:

Dont worry too much about temps, I've seen my 7900GS hit 140c and my 8800GT hit 130C, Both on accident, And they both survived and are still running OC'ed to this day.

70*c Max, only hits it when the room is too hot to be in really. Air.. sucks.

I'd like to move to water cooling. I'd like to order everything from Petra's but it seems they're out of stock alot. (I love my Petra's pens and the personal notes! lol)

I lost that 5c with taking the side off ( good pointer towards having bad airflow I guess ) but I am to thinking about going to water. Though I only have a 2x120mm alu koolance rad and I do need it to cool my quad with that, don't think it will like a raise in watts to dissipate.

My ambient temp is 24.5C and with my Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev. 2 my GPU temps max out at 50C. This is with a EVGA 8800GT @ 737 core 1836 shaders 2074 memory.

I have both sides of my case off and a high performance box fan blowing thru 24/7. One night I forgot to turn the box fan on and when I woke up my GPU (8800GT) was running 96C... :shakes:

I am usually around 80C even with the fan at 100%, I need to get my pc out from under my desk... :shakes

Accelero exhausts through the back right? That's what I need to keep my case cooler, now all that heat has to go out mostly through my rad :(

I'm low 80s.

This XFX cooler for this 8800gt 256mb is absolute crap.. took the top off of it and have a 80mm fan blowing on it.

Time to get a new cooler.

I get higher temps gaming then folding, but I can't game 24/7 and it does run fah without interuption. I guess since I am new to gpu folding really ( I done 2 wu's on a 1600pro lmao ) I still got to get rid off my cold feet syndrome :)

Does anyone know the max temp? Idk where to look for the whitepapers but it should be mentioned somewhere right?

Accelero does not exhaust outside of the case. At least mine doesn't.

Ok which 3rd party cooler compatible with my 9600gt does then ??

70C on 3870 Diamond dual-slot cooler, on the really hot days it can get over 75 so i crank the fan to 80%. I to keep it around 70% usually.

I have a new 120mm Antec fan on the way from the egg, it should push some serious air because it was $15!

8800GT at 50% Fan, OC to 700 Core I get 68C...Standard cooling

Nice ppd there DAK1640

68c does not worry you for 24/7?

As far as I know there isn't one. Just get better case airflow.

I run at 73C constant on my 8800GTX at 630 1350 1000.

Seems like the single slot vid cards run just crazy hot. I'd take a few things into consideration.

How much do you want to spend on liquid cooling your current gpu?

If a cooling block is 40 bucks and 100+ for liquid heat sink, why not get an 8800gts since its cooling and OCing are much better? People in the deals thread mentioned the zotac 8800gts for 120 after rebate. That seems likea great deal and a good folding card.

I can't find any info on the max temps for an 8800gt. I don't know.

73C with a 9800GX2 on the stock cooler, both GPUs Folding. Core is stock (625 MHz), shaders OC'd to 1900 MHz. If I don't adjust the fan manually the thing idles at this temperature.

Like I said I can return the 9600gt and get a 8800gt Zerotherm. (http://www.alternate.nl/html/productDetails.html?baseId=4374&artno=jbxul3)

That will be quicker but it also keeps that heat in my case.

@Lowrez, I got 4x80mm running full blast ( cm fans pretty loud but also enough airflow, the problem is that the exhaust mostly goes through my rad and that I don't like when my ambients inside the case have gone up so much ). I lost the side window again and lost over night 10c :(
