I am having a hell of a time flashing the ic7g mx2. It seems that the only bios that works is the 10 bios, everything else will not allow the board to boot, then I have to use the autoflash feature at boot to get the board back up and running with the original -10 bios.

Is there any tricks you guys are using to get this board to flash? I have been flashing bioses for years and have never had any problems like this. Is there any where other than abits site to DL the file?

I am using the reccomended drdos boot tool to make the disk, then extracting the ic7_17 bios to the disk. I boot to dos then proceed to flash, the operation completes succesfully, but when I go to reboot i get a bios checksum error and asks for a system disk to flash again. I have tried clearing the cmos after flashing, but no luck..

THing is that when I flash the -10 bios it works everytime?? WTF is going on here?

Well jsut an update I can not flash any bios other thatn the original bios for this board. Every time I try to flash another bios the board will not boot, jsut says chacksum error and insert a system disk. All I do is insert a disk with the origianl -10 bios and all is well. I get this prolem with every bios I have tried..... WTF

what's autoflash?
Does the p4p800 board have it?

It might get my board running again since I don't get a picture when I boot.

Not sure if asus has it, but basically there is a boot block in the bios that will allow the board to boot from a floppy in the event of a bios disaster, it has sure saved my ass in this situation. If no video, jsut put the floppy in and boot the system, it will acces the floppy and laod the new bios.

With my IC7G However I am fed up and this board is going back for RMA.
