Can't get 3dmark06 to work plz help.

I downloaded the 3dmark06 v1.1 but when I go to install it, it says that i have to install really old version of directx for it to work. idk what to do, never have used any 3dmark.

Which Windows version are you using ?
Anyways, download the latest DirectX distributable installation/update file from Microsoft's DirectX website for gamers ( www.microsoft.com/directx ) [ and click on "DirectX for gamers ] and install it.
Then try again.

Heh the computer im using right now is like 6 years old, just wanted to see what it mark it would get on 3dmark06.

I'm running XP Pro service pack 2

If your graphics card ain't SM2.0 "compatible" then it will not work at all ( apart from the CPU tests & some feature tests )

Not sure what SM2.0 means but I have a GeForce FX 5500. lol

rofl, just got to fix that directx problem :(

Go to Start>Run> and type dxdiag and hit the 'Enter' key. Once/if the Direct X Diagnostic Tool opens, check the first three tabs, System, Direct X, and Display for any error messages. Then go through each tab and run the tests for that function.
