Well i fried my other e8400 and my rma finally came. Here are my results so far. I dont think im going to be going above 4.32 ghz beucase of my vcore. 1.42! I still dont know what temp program to trust so iv just been going by what real temp says sense its not 10++C above my bios readings.

Specs

x38-ds4
e8400 q816a152(suppost to be bad stepping?)
2x 1gb g.skill hz
lapped TRUE/kaze fan

so far im at 4.23 ghz 1.44 vcore(according to easytune6) 470fsb 45Cish load temps according to easytune6, 53 according to real temp
ram is at 5-5-5-12 940mhz 1:1 2.2volts
+.1 FSB

I still dont know if i should bump and other voltage settings like FSB volts. Its been prime stable for 20 mins now with music playing, chatting on aim/xfire, surfing web, and cod4 installing. Screen shots in a min

1,42V on 45nm processor? Whoa... You don't want it to last long, right?

I have an E8400 and EX38-DS4, I can bench pi and nuclearus at 4.3 with 1.44v.

You actually probably dont need that much voltage, with 1.4v you should be good. You just need more NB voltage. I never went over +.1 though, if I added .3 I could easily get 4.5.

4.23 is my stable OC for 3dmark and Crysis benches though.

Mine loves to run 3.8 (426x9) 24/7 at 1.34v and +.05 to the NB, and my memory at 1065 5-5-5-12 2.08v.

Ok im going to lower my vcore and up my NB.

1.44 vcore +.1 FSB (thats NB volts right)
same settings as above
Running prime now

Lol i wonder why your first one fried. The limit or at least until its in the warning zone on the 45nm intel processors is about 1.376 anything higher then that is not safe.

Even with decent temps?

keep in mind i want this to be a 24/7 oc.

I'v backed down to 450fsb

1.36 vcore 4.05ghz
+.1 FSB

With decent temps, 1.44 is fine for 30min benching sesions. 1.45v is what Intel says is max for them, so 1.5 is probably more like it.

I personally will never take a 45nm over 1.44

Ah, 24/7 I wouldnt go over 1.36v. So what ever you can get with that. I think 3.8 is fine honestly, as its enough to releave "most" of the bottleneck in Crysis when on very high.
