Have you play call of duty 4 in crossfire mode and had this problem after being flash banged?

http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/6464/bandsqc8.th.jpg (http://img149.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bandsqc8.jpg)

Setup is 2 x HIS 4870's 512mb, QX9650, 4gb DDR3, Asus P5E3 Premium.

I'd be intrested to know if anyone has this problem with any kind of crossfire setup.

Thanks

2x 4870s wow. Probably just the drivers, those cards just came out.

I know :(

Do you have the problem with your 3870's?

it's a driver problem for sure. i assume you're running Windows XP? i had dual 3870's and everything worked swimmingly in that game until the 8.3 driver came out. 8.2 worked perfectly for me. 8.3-8.5 were terrible for CrossFire though. 8.6 is better for me. you're running a new 4K card so you can't use 8.2.

the good news is that i've been in contact with the ATI guys and they said a fix for that will be in the 8.7 driver. until then, you can turn CF off if it bothers you that much. a single 4870 kicks that poor game's butt.

there were a lot of us with that problem. i finally got a hold of some people on Rage3D and made them aware of the problem last month. they were able to reproduce the error in-house and find a solution in a matter of hours, but that was right as they were preparing for the 4870 launch so they were real busy. i've been assured that 8.7 will have the fix though.

i think that's just the driver since they're still new. Remind me of CF 3870 with COD4 with 7.11, cant render the smoke & soft shadows correctly. I must use multisampling 2 play COD4, but CF still doesnt perform correctly back then

No I don't. However, I am running vista and I believe that's why.

heck the problems are with crossfire, so am 99% sure the crossfire driver will be fine when ATI releases 4870 X2
did you guys try 5 series drivers?

i have also been in contact with ati, they said they should have a new catalyst out on the 15th july, around a week from now

I tried it today and no problems, but i needed to uninstall the Cards in the system not just the Uninstall ATI CCC menu. Full system uninstall. Then install the 8.7 again.
It woked for me. When i uninstaled 8.6 and instaled 8.7 it didn't work correctly. Do the uninstall through System menu.

it's really weird. nine times out of ten the flash bangs render fine. every once in a while i still get the flashing lines.

same here,i unsinstalled the 8.6 hotfix thru add/remove then ran driver sweeper, booted into windows deleted all ati files/folder/reg entries and installed 8.7
I still get it but not as bad as 8.6
