Posted this in another thread, had the same issue I was able to fix by downloading the 177.35 international driver version from nvidia instead of the one linked in the thread. Also, the driver clocked my 9600 gt down from 650 core to 500 so I would ditch it ;)

RT didn't allow overclocking for me with the drivers I got through here (xs), boxed didn't want to stay checked and the shaders clocks didn't even show. Though I'm on vista x64 and I think you're not, since the no oc problem has been mentioned by more people already. Atitool also didn't want to play ball with the 177.35's I got at first.

Vista x64 here.. No problem OCing, maintaining the same profile as before, and can change them if I like. Of course, this is with EVGAPrecision (Rivatuner), not ATI Tool, so I guess that's what you need to fix. ;)

Which installation package? The one from this thread? Got riva installed? Wonder if it really was me.. think I read some other people had these issues to though.

No, I installed EVGA Precision because it's essentially the overclocking functions from rivatuner made by the same guy. Rivatuner didn't have driver signatures, redirected me to techpowerup which had a signed version, but said version was outdated. At this point I just said :banana::banana::banana: it and went for EVGA Precision as it had the stuff I needed anyway. (OCing, OC profiles)

I had a dl link for that app but didn't dl it because I was told I needed to flash my xfx to an evga bios to get it working is that true? If doesn't do a hardware vendor id I think I would like to try it :)

I have XFX, it doesn't care what vendor it is.

I'm not a member ( nor do I sign up to forums to download files, no one forces me to sign up to download something unless I have to... )

Do I have to.. I will, tomorrow after some sleep.

Thanks for the link bowman after reading it, should be a nice tool. Thought atm the folding has my card at 70c with the stock cooler, I'd like some lower temps so I need some after market cooling before I push it harder 24/7.
