Hey guys,

Disclaimer: This topic is based purely on curiosity and is much more extreme than what I'm willing to attempt :P

Would one be able to use a Vapor Phase Change cooler to cool a Liquid Cooling System?

What do I mean by this? Well instead of the usual Pump > Rad > CPU > NB > GPU or whatever, replace the rad with a CPU waterblock linked to a vapor phase change CPU block.

Now I know Vapor Phase Changer coolers will get the component down to sub 0 temperatures, but you could just mount the CPU blocks linking the two systems outside. After that would it be possible to slow the output of the Vapor Phase Changer to keep the water at room temperature? You could always go below room temperature I guess but then you've got massive insulation to take care of as well as having to make sure it doesn't go sub 0 and freeze (though the flow would help make sure that doesn't happen).

Anyway, this is really just for discussion's sake but hey, has anyone tried it? Any feedback on why it would be a bad idea?

It exist and is called a Chiller (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=155).
Chillers use the same technology and parts, but are better to cool down water then a phase-change evaporator would be.
