View Full Version : cooling 2 tripple rads with 2 250mm fans?
I friend of mine wants to build a custom case with 2 250mm fans in the front and put 2 tripple(mcr320 seems like a good choice) rads behind them, side by side ofc.
This should be quite decent cooling with very little noice right?
Or does the pressure on the 250mm fans suck so much that the rads would almost stop all the air flow?
He has a qx6700 and 1 88gtx atm. And also cooling his mb(nb,mosfets)

It doesn't seem like a bad idea, but you'll want to make a shroud of some sort. I'm not too sure on the pressure from the fan, but if you make a shroud that reduces the area, it should increase pressure.
Ye all the air will go through the rads. Probably with a few cm`s between the fans and the rads.

As long as all of the air go to the rad with a shroud, it should work pretty well. You'll want to seal any areas where air could escape.
I've always been under the impression that fan static pressure tends to be highly rpm dependent, so larger, low-rpm fans tend to have poor static pressure (even though their open-case flow is excellent).
That said, I'm sure your solution will be up to the task, through raw surface area if nothing else.

ummmm 250 fans blow.
you know what i wanted to do is grab a magiccool and then grab one of those box AC fans and connect it that way. Havent had the time to try it out tho. :P
ummmm 250 fans blow.
Or suck... dependign on wich way u mount it. :p:
But the share frontal area of the dual 320rads and the size of the fans should make it cool pretty decent anyways. And it looks kinds cool to! :)
