View Full Version : My 4870 arrives friday, will my 3870 EK block fit on it ?

Tittle says it all really. By what I can see the pcb is different for the 4870 but I am wishful thinking here. Hate to sell off a sweet block like this ek.

As i was saying on a previous thread it might be possible, however the new heat sink shows it has a step base. Meaning the core might be lower then the standard 3870.

If thats the case, then were in trouble.

I posted in another topic but I will post here quickly 2. It wont fit. Ive got my card but no go.

Same thing with 4850 and 3850 EK blocks. :/
You can fit either the 4 GPU screws or either the 5 surrounding screws, but no both.
