Wel guys...I did it...I took the plunge!
Purchased an ASUS P4C800-E / P4 2.6C and 2x Seagate 120GB SATAs.
Replacing an ABIT NF7-S / Barton 2500+ @ 2.3 @ 200FSB
Here's to hoping my upgrade is worth the $519.00 I just spent!
I'm hoping for at least 3.3 - 3.4 Ghz on air, as I got an SLK 900 and some Corsair XMS LLTP PC3200 (Winbond BH5) ram...
Think I'll hit it???
Lemme know any special tips...
thx!

Thanks for the welcome...
I was so fed up trying to choose between the ASUS and the ABIT Max3...so I just went with the highest ASUS I could get my grubby little hands on!
I'm supposing I should see quite an increase in performance compared to my OCed Barton. What I'm really after is a higher framerate in IL2 Forgotten Battles, as it's an FSB lovin' pig.
I'm supposing that with my Low-Latency Corsair...I'll probably have to run a 5:4 divider with slack timings. But...as things go...it should still spank the §§§§e out of my AMD system.
I just COULDN'T wait for Athlon 64...Besides, when it's time to upgrade again (January), the A-64 will be alot cheaper...well...hopefully.
Quick question though, the Prescott should work perfectly fine with the 875P right??? Cause if it does, I may stick with intel. I seriously hope they don't pull an nvidia and release the "early 1.0" version and only support Prescott on the "later 2.0" version of 875.:smileysex <------ "Disclaimer:I just like this smiley...it means nothing

Excellent choice! I have them both and they do bench just about the same. The higher dimm voltage is sweet too if you don't want to vmod.
The sound on my max3 however sucks bad with lots of crackling and popping so you made a good choice. My voltages on my rails are reported as being lower on this board then my p4c.
