Anyone seen retailers or e-tailers offering 4870's for sale (that actually have them in stock)? I'm looking to buy one ASAP.
Same!

It was delicious. Thanks.
They've already dropped the price of it $10 since i viewed it 10m ago
Edit: Order placed! Thanks Heretic. These might be $300 later today but I've been waiting for ohhh so long! haha. Its too bad they wanted $30 for 2day shipping

Yea, I saw that price drop too. I think it was at 369 earlier yesterday.
Looks like someone canceled their order, or MBPro found another 4870... back to 1 left in stock.
Just saw this posted on hardforum.

They appear to be in stock. The EST arrival date seems to be due to the shipping/processing option. If you choose Expedited or Express, the arrival date moves up to 7/1-7/2 and 6/30-7/1 respectively. That would mean 3 day shipping UPS/FedEx which is perfectly reasonable.

Just my opinion, but I'd buy from these guys only as a last resort. Coincidentally, they're just down the street from ATI's offices.
BTW - I would definitely phone ahead to make sure the "in stock" isnt BS

I think this card need memory like 1024mb, maybe there will be some work station ones with that much & more. Like the 2gb gddr4 V8650.

Omg... even if you're not buying this card sign in and vote the very first review as "not helpful."

I was just going to ask someone if they could find one in stock in Canada. You have no idea how bad I want to buy one right now, but I know I'd have buyer remorse once they are available everywhere and prices are lower.
I'll give someone a cookie + milk if they can find more places in Canada to buy the 4870 from.

i got lucky and snagged the last Sapphire 4870 from Newegg yesterday at 5:30 PM - way before they were supposed to list them. i tried to get another one this morning while they were still in stock but i missed the boat, so i ordered one from Best Buy for $10 less. the website says it will arrive monday or tuesday. the Newegg one arrives tomorrow.

hah I randomly went to motherboardpro.com and it said they had 1 left and I ordered it. Hopefully they don't flake like bestbuy did. NCIX is taking pre-orders on the visiontek with an ETA of tomorrow but they state that the order can change for any reason.

i got an e-mail from Best Buy saying my item was backordered and Best Buy is too big and important to give me an estimated date that it will come back in stock. so i cancelled the order. but Best Buy is too big and important to refund my money right away, so i get to wait up to 48 hours to get my $330 back. now i couldn't afford another card even if i found one.

I actually decided to wait until they're in at NCIX. I have a credit note and a free shipping note that I need to use there. Realized I'll need a new PSU as well. :D

big wet kiss! i'm e-smooching the helloutofyou right now! i got sick of refreshing the Newegg page all day and i wouldn't have known they were back in stock if you hadn't posted that link. so my first 4870 arrives tomorrow and the next one should be here on Friday. living in Southern California means i get next day shipping for the price of ground from Newegg :D
Thats a 4850
That's the point: there were 4870 and 4850 on that page before I raided their supplies :D

Just got mine in from newegg on an overnight order - :D
Some problems with the heatsink QA, they didn't screw the fan in all the way so it rattled like crazy until I took everything apart to check it out.

Is there a better ATI card maker than others? (Sapphire vs HIS vs ?)
Thanks!
xMrBunglex

Sapphire is one of the older and definitely one of the more popular partners. HIS is cool because they usually release Turbo IceQ factory OC models with their custom coolers. Asus also puts custom cooling solutions on their cards and sometimes have the best bundles. as of right now though, they're all just reference cards. the only difference is price, bundles (free game is always cool), and warranty. i trust Asus and Sapphire the most for good customer service, but i've also owned two HIS cards and a GeCube card and never had any quality issues.
