I recently received an 8800GT XT [640mhz] and it's running really crippled. I'm talking 400mhz core and just above 7k in 3dmark06 [pulled 12k on my other 8800GT].

Got the card to run in sli, but not much to it as it seems it's on its last leg. Any suggestions, guys?

Rest of the system? What kind of PSU are you using? Can you test the card in another rig?

hey guys. to answer your questions:

drivers tested: 169.25 [nvidia and omega] and 175.16.

my rig: e6600, 680i, thermaltake toughpower 750w, vista x64, 8gb ddr2-800..

no way of testing it in any other system [other pc is agp], but swapping back and forth with my other 8800gt shows this one to be the weakest link [by far].

[edit]

i ran my other 8800gt in sli and non-sli with this XFX 8800gt, and all the vitals for that card checkout without an issue, it's still very healthy. i'm really down to thinking the card is messed up and maybe i should be sending it in for a replacement/repair.

when i had them in sli:

can anyone tell me why the memory only shows 484mb as opposed to 512mb? thanks for the responses :D

I'd RMA the card and get a new one.

If one 88GT is scoring 12K in 06 and the other scores 7K than the card should probably be RMAed. Have you put a support ticket in at http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support.aspx yet? If so PM me the ticket number.

quick question.. how long does an RMA usually take once xfx receives the defective item?

i got a replacement fan with variable speed in like 2 days.. so its pretty quick. GO XFX.
