GTX 280 questions

about 1 month ago i purchased an evga 8800 ultra at NCIX.
Sincve i am still in the step up program , i am looking to change it with the GTX 280 ftw.
Are this cards stable atm and will this upgrade be worth it ?
I just do not want to change a well working card an drun into drivers nightmare with this new cards =/
Does teh 280 gtx have the same problem has the 9 series card where the 8 pin and 6 pin connectors on the PSU do not fit ont he connectors on the graphic card? Or the fixed this problem?

My system specs are asus rampage formula --e8400--silverstone zeus zm 1200W.
I will be running the gtx 280 with windows xp rpo and 2 gig of ram bad idea?

I've got two of these cards and have had no issues... 6/8 pin connectors fit perfectly and performance over my 8800 GTX sli is asstounding :D (they really make my 30" monitor shine)

only thing is you wont be able to step up to the FTW version. as per step up protocols, only vanila cards are available for step up

As far as I have heard no issues just make sure your PSU can handle the cards.

I too had been running an evga 8800 Ultra Superclocked for nearly a year (great card btw..) but last week bought a BFG GTX 280 OC.

I've gotta say this GTX 280 really flies!
For everything the 8800 Ultra is, the 280 is simply much faster and actually runs about 10-15c cooler.
