When choosing memory I've read ~8 reviews, in each of them the PCB of the memory was green. When my pair of sticks arrived I was quite surprised to see they had black PCB [picture on the website of the shop I've bought them showed green PCB version too].

I'm certainly not complaining since they OC well but I was just wondering if there's any difference between these "versions", like different chips... ?

Yes, the old chips were Micron D9s, new chips are Elpida and doesn't like voltage or tight timings and doesn't work well in 4x1GB configs.

So... Black = Elpida?

Should I take this silence as "yes"?
More silence as "yes" to question above won't work :>
