Brave man, to lap a chip that's almost certainly going to die ;) Can the shader clocks not go any higher?

Hmm, I may try to push the shaders some more.

Holy CRAP that is incredible!
Doesn't that phase change head need insulation or is this something new I don't know about?

Grats on the Great Run :D
Maybe with a bit of luck you can get the Cpu to run 450 Fsb at lower multi or just a bit faster :D

Tri-SLI is still broken in Crysis.
JacobF
06-23-2008, 01:19 PM
Naw, tri-SLI works good in Crysis :) I will put up a Crysis benchmark tonight.

Thanks, can't wait! Maxishine on youtube managed to get an average of 44 fps on Very high in 1920x1200 with no AA using Quad-SLI. Am convinced you can beat him pretty easy!

is it playable though?
i used to get like 40+ fps using Quad-SLI but the game was NOT playable because of in-game lag(bottleneck or something i guess)
JacobF
06-24-2008, 08:55 AM
Yes, it is very playable, in game it actually runs about 40fps or so. No micro-stuttering :)

06-24-2008, 09:26 AM
thnx for the info jAkUp!
atm it is 100% playable @1920x1200@very high(20-25 fps but really smooth :D ,feels like 40+ fps) using a single GTX280
i'm not sure if it is worth the extra money needed for 2/3-SLI just to play Crysis@2560x1600  (since a single GTX280 can handle anything else pretty good)
Considering the AA i can't see any visual difference between noAA and 16xQ apart from the yellow numbers at the left corner of my screen(the Fraps fps counter i mean  )
see for yourself (no AA VS 16xQ)

Jacob, can you please do a run on the same settings but without AA, so i can compare against the Quad-SLI result i saw from maxishine at youtube...
Thank you!

Only 35 fps on Veryhigh in 1920x1200 with no AA and 16xAF? Well that's about 10 fps worse than a Quad-SLI setup, i though 280 in 3-SLI was faster, guess i was wrong...

06-25-2008, 08:41 AM
As i already stated in post #32,Quad-SLI was faster when using the Crysis bench tool BUT the game was not playable
take a look

Although the framerate looks ...pathetic now,the game is 100% playable(no AA/AF)
PS sorry if the pics are too big

I find it very strange that you only get 33 fps on those settings on Quad-SLI. Maxishine on youtube gets about 44 fps witch is aprox 10 fps more than you on the same setup and same settings. It must be driver related or something. So u get lower fps but less stuttering on a 280 Tri setup rather than the Quad-SLI setup? Am i missing some detail here or what?

Yeah,it could be a driver related problem(or OS,or CPU or....)
I spend quite a lot of time trying to make Quad-SLI work with Crysis and i also tried all the official and beta drivers i could find.Nothing worked(not even an OCed Q6600@3,6GHz)
So u get lower fps but less stuttering on a 280 Tri setup rather than the Quad-SLI setup? Am i missing some detail here or what?
It is 1 x GTX280 VS 2 x 9800GX2,not 3 x GTX280 :D
That's why i asked jAkUp if the game(not the bench) runs smoooooooth using 3-GPU setup ;)

06-25-2008, 10:39 AM
Why dont you contact him and ask him about it? I know he's running a E8500 and uses 2 or 4 GB of ddr-3 rams. It must be driver related. Keep pushing!
Still no word from jakup...

Could you please run this test again, but this time with OVERCLOCKED cards?
